Dying Light

Just finished the main story and goddamn if it wasn't an addictive game that never felt monotonous to play (unlike Dead Island or most open world games I've played). Running, climbing and jumping the city as you killed millions of zombies never got old.
The only thing I didn't like how most story missions past the halfway point were just Call of Duty-esque corridor gunfights and the story itself was full of nonsensical moments.

What do you think about Dying Light, Zig Forums?

great game and i even like the ending

It is a great game and It's apparent that they focused more on the gameplay being entertaining and fun.
Rather than on some generic story.

I replay Dying Light for the gameplay not the story.
(The story adds to the gameplay. I'm writing this because, I don't want to come of as a hatter.)

true, people that wear hats are scum

wish it had more guns desu

Now play The Following DLC. It scratches a different itch to vanilla, but a good scratch nonetheless.

The story of the main game is fine if you look at it as a cheesy action movie sorta thing. Highly entertaining.
Game's fucken sweet with friends.

This was the only open world game I ever did 100% (even got all the flags).

The (true) ending was shit though and doesn't give me much hope for the sequel.

It's been my favorite game for 5 years now, the ragdoll physics and bullet recochets are real well done and fun to play with

I wear a sombrero, but only to own the da libs

Really good game. Played it coop with a friend and it was really fun. The only game except dead space 1 and 2 that has baby/children enemies you can kill, I wonder how they got around that.

>sit in the top seat of the car
>friend drives under a tube
>I fucking die

happened to me more than once.
lost my shit laughing every time.

should I get the normal edition or the enhanced one?

Enhanced one comes with The Following, right? I would go with The Following just for the crossbow that you get to drag back to Harran

I adored the beginning when zombies where like playing the floor is lava and they were an environmental hazard that needed to be dealt with. It felt like a new spin on Resident Evil in a way.

Once you got a bunch of upgrades and became a killing machine it was fun for a while due to the contrast of the early game but after that I quickly lost interest.

Just get enhanced while it is on sale. The only things worth buying in it are base game and the following, but they are bundled cheaper in the enhanced together thanks to the sale right now. Also if you want to use bows that arent complete dogshit, buy the harran ranger DLC. Base game bow isnt useful for anything.

>if you look at it as a cheesy action movie sorta thing
I'm still baffled at people hating DL's storyline which is a deliberate stylistic choice. It's as bit as goofy as Day of the Dead movies, feels like you've literally teleported in one of those.

someone with a nice system AND who knows how to properly play should make some cool Dying Light webms, I'm surprised I haven't ever seen any posted on here before

I came in expecting dead island with a parkour gimmick but it was really fugging good. Only thing I wish they did was more unique loot like the first dead island. Getting badass named legendaries would've been cooler than generic weapons with a different colour.

Oh no, I do agree about the story being fine. It was just that many moments of it made me roll my eyes. Like that part with the Antizin or Crane killing Tahir in cold blood because "he's a dangerous loose end" only to try to spare fucking Rais

>See that building? you can climb it
>(you can actually do it)
So good.
Also, as someone who lives in a third world country I couldn't help but smile: the first map looked almost exactly like the poor districts on my city look (besides houses and apartments being smaller and we don't have sea here) and when I arrived to the second map I thought to myself "this must be the district where the rich people lives" and the NPCs indeed confirmed it.

>dying light 2 fell for the story meme
>gets stuck in dev hell
That's what you get for trying to appeal to muh story moviegame crowd. Should of just focused on gameplay and map design.

I never stopped playing it as the floor is lava, even when I got almost all of the combat upgrades.

i assume most people are like me and got bored of this game long before ever finishing it. i mean it was fun while it was fun but meh

Can you blame them?
Dying Light didn't sell very well and that's why Techland stickied to it since then; meanwhile garbage like Nier Automata sells a billion copies because "muh story".

My wife Ezgi is so cute.

>because "muh story"
you mean the anime butt?

same, I think I'm like 3 missions from the end but I just cant be bothered.

I'm still missing one subquest but I have no idea where it is and I don't want to start The Following until I finish it.
The end of the twins' final subquest (the one that you get after beating the second to last mission) has hilarious as fuck.

i actually can't handle getting chased
that's why i couldn't play RE2 either

Pussy

it's something that's affecting me more recently
i could play Dead Space 1-2 without issues when they got released

dead space isn't scary, because 3rd person.

Yeah I get the whole scene girl vibe but she is literally retarded.

What's wrong with being chased by multiple volatiles that are 3 times faster than you?

It's alright but the story ruined the game for me. I still finished it but never want to play it again. The joy of climbing and doing melee combos only lasts so long

It's a shame how during the early game being seen by them was a death sentence but later you have enough HP and mobility to easily shrug off many of them. Especially on the old town where all you have to do is jumping into one of the multiple water bodies.

Teenagers are generally retarded when it comes to decision making. I still want to bully her into submission.

it did not not sell because the story was shit.
it didn't sell because the whole game is a boring buggy mess.
sure killing zombies is fun for a while but it gets old really fucking fast.
theres also no reason to explore because there's nothing to be found. you can grind all your stuff in repeatable missions and get ton of xp while doing so.
its basically dead island but with grappling hook which also is buggy and doesen't recognize edges always.
also melee sucks, all your stuff cinstantly breaks and once you get guns game is too easy.

>once you get guns game is too easy
Bullshit. Guns are only for tight spots unless you want virals up your ass all the time.

If anything it's the hookshot that breaks the game once you have it. Also bugs? You must have been playing an older pirated copy.

>tfw I jumped to my friend game during his first night and we hunted them for fun.

virals dont matter when you can just cheese them from safe spots and ammo is plenty
played it last year fully patched

Exact same

What is with the difficulty? I play most games on the hardest setting and I did with this.

Fucking early game was miserable. Honestly defines the term bullet sponge. Even melee attacks were shit. Actual fans of the game, is it advised to not play on hard? I got through it but it just wasn't fun

what he said. i used guns only as a last resort and i don't remember any bugs
