Why are girls always so bad at video games? Assuming they even play real games to begin with and not phone shit, they seem to be universally terrible at learning mechanics and solving problems using those mechanics.
Why are girls always so bad at video games? Assuming they even play real games to begin with and not phone shit...
bonk
They don't. They just don't feel it's worth to get better at them and I completely understand them. Some is getting dedicated enough to become better tho.
Cruel fucking image btw. Why would anybody do it to their imouto
Hand a guy who has never played a game in a given genre a controller and do the same with a woman and 99% of the time the guy will pick up on it faster and peak higher in skill than the girl, I guarantee it.
women never have to put effort into anything
they never learn how to learn
you guarantee it, huh?
She's not his sister, tho.
99% of women seem to just entirely lack the focus necessary to excel at most games. That being my gf was a grandmaster mercy main on overwatch so I'm not going to talk too much shit.
Exact same shit happened to me when I was a kid, except the girl kept playing with my ass and dressing me like a girl. God I fucking wish I didn't lose contact with her. I had literally everything.
Yeah, I do. I'd bet cash money on it.
Then why are they pushing so hard to get in "le gamer culture"?
unless you're a streamer there isn't any reward to being good at video games. that energy is better spent on successfully reproducing and girls are on a tighter schedule
Fuck this artist and his shitty manga
Name of manga?
men have always been very focused and even tunnel visioned on tasks, so we can hunt prey efficiently. It's evolutionary autism.
A Girl on the Shore, but it's pretty hit or miss.
Women are biologically inclined to be interested in people and not things. This is why they heavily gravitate towards playing MMOs and The Sims, the former requiring one to learn mechanics but bolstered by a strongly present community, and the latter requiring little mechanics and allowing one to simulate basic social circumstances. Rarely will a woman get more invested in games men enjoy unless their social desires are fulfilled in some way or another. For example, Fire Emblem is a strategy game, a genre largely enjoyed by men. When did it garner female players? When it added leniency for playing poor mechanically and introduced social content between the characters. One would think something like Pokémon is an exception with how much of the game is focused on relatively standard RPG game structure, but the mechanics of Pokémon are heavily simplified relative to practically all JRPGs and the gameplay is bolstered by women's material desires to own cute things.
For men, the enjoyment is the gameplay, especially when provided a sufficient challenge that must be overcome for mastery and achievement of a skilled flow state. For women, mechanics are an obstacle to their end goal of a social flow state where they have created optimal connections between their player character and the other characters in game, human or NPC.
Other games popular with women to further clarify these points: Animal Crossing, Maplestory, Phoenix Wright, Danganronpa, Persona, Kirby, Yume Nikki
Anyone whose never played a video game before sucks at learning how to play video games.
The females just don't find many main stream video games interesting, main stream games being the starting point for most people.
Thats why most female gamers go to pokemon or animal crossing, thats just more their speed.
I just want to jack off to a girl from Zig Forums
is that much to ask?
They've literally always been here. Fucking fire emblem, persona, pokemon, animal crossing, and plenty of other series have always had notable enough female demographics for developers to make games with them in mind.
What you're seeing is stream culture not video game culture. Huge difference
Because games combat mechanics are focused on male strenghts and abilities (because they're designed by other males).
As such most combat in games rewards the same skills hunters were rewarded in our primordial era.
So, it seems logical such skills are incompatible with the biology of the harvester farmer while she takes cares of the children and there's males in the tribe to protect them outside from depredators/enemies.
So, it seems logical to assume most games simply are designed by males and therefore are terrible to appeal to the ancestral way of life of women.
If you can see which games women are interested into, you can see they play mostly the games that appeal to that old lady harvesting crops while taking care of the children and doing laundry.
As such, games that women are good, are games that appeal to that.
SIMS, Animal crossing, Stardew Valley.
Games that are about taking care of weaker beings and decorating/keeping their home.
>For example, Fire Emblem is a strategy game, a genre largely enjoyed by men. When did it garner female players?
Not at or after awakening, that's for sure. Hint: FE8 was made by a woman in several key direction and production roles and she was there since at least Thracia.
>If you can see which games women are interested into, you can see they play mostly the games that appeal to that old lady harvesting crops while taking care of the children and doing laundry.
Then why dont gamer girls do this irl? They're some of the least hygienic and caring women I've known
Women have shittier reaction times than men, especially when decision making is involved.
>girl from Zig Forums
No such thing exists.
Designers aren't the players user. One woman in a development team doesn't equate to a bunch of women then playing and enjoying that game. There will always be exceptional women that have more masculine traits and interests, it's part of the biological bell curve. But there wasn't a (in any way notable, there may have also been few but exceptional women) female consumer and player audience until Awakening.
Good posts. It's painful to watch most girls try to play anything with any level of difficulty.
It's not a perfect rule, but the same way not all males are hypercompetitive males ready to compete for pussy, not all women follow their biology 100%
but generally women will find more appealing being a nurse than being an engineer.
this must be fake
Because it's much harder to perform those tasks and achieve a definite and ideal goal like they're presented in games. In some ways it's insidious because the surrogate achievement of these tasks in gaming fulfills their desires to perform these tasks which means they don't need the satisfaction from their real duties.
yeah, one of my goals is to make games that appeal to women.
Ironically has been the most interesting challenge to get rid of combat and still have a challenging game.
But I've found getting rid of combat, allow me to be more creative.
The other day I was thinking about a game where you avoid bunnies from eating your crops by making them roll as boulders into a cage, after they get sleepy from eating.
It was a very original idea.
there are female girls
they just don't care about anons wanting to see their boobs or are just insecure about their body
I don't care if they're ugly, fat, or whatever
I appreciate the gesture to let me fap to them
Look at the credits for fe8 shes credited for nearly everything from direction, scenario, to level design, to character design. She absolutely was not making it to appeal to men. Lyn gained them a female playerbase and Sachiko Wada was chosen to capitalize on it in their following game where the heroine has even more emphasis and screentime than previously. Not to mention 8 introduced grinding and was generally easier.
all rebbit and twatter screencaps are real on Zig Forums
Keep telling yourself that, buddy.
Perhaps take notes from Slime Rancher, a major hit with women that also has no combat. I think the best skill to aim for is management skill, as women love having to keep up with tasks regularly (daily activities in Animal Crossing for example). Cooking Mama has tasks that need relatively precise gameplay but the tasks are morsel-sized and only require brief applications of skill, so they're palatable for women.
>Look at the credits for fe8 shes credited for nearly everything from direction, scenario, to level design, to character design.
>She absolutely was not making it to appeal to men.
You don't actually think these two sentences have anything to do with one another, do you?
As a woman I think combat isnt entirely isolating to girl gamers. Lots of them are into D&D. To appeal to women you'll need character customization and inoffensive romanceable NPCs. Having relaxing or low stress gameplay is good but if you have the character and relationship driven framework you're guaranteed a 60% or higher female playerbase
ok thx bro
When is punpun getting an anime adaptation
Overwatch isn't really a skillful game user.
I've realized after making some prototypes, why the fuck do I have to decrease enemy HP.
Why I can't instead increase the enemy HP in my combat and reversing everything?
That was when I had the big ephifany.
yeah, women are driven by socializing, and such ironically most women stories try to follow the heroine's journey.
It was a nice book to read and is a shame most of the industry tries to sell action male heroes with vagina, when most women lifegoal in stories written by them is to end up with a nice husband and two kids in a farming house.
sound cliche, but I don't judge.
>mercy
Why would intsys promote an artist to scenario, director, writer, etc (she was already doing level designs by that point) after having a successful game released internationally with a strong female heroine who got disproportionately popular compared to her importance and screentime? Yes I do absolutely think it was related especially given the next game has catboys and gayshit
>literally one of the biggest e-sports
>lol no skill involved
>it's another "men try to explain women" thread
Women trying to explain men is just as stupid. We're alien to each other and there's nothing wrong with that. The mysticism in figuring each other out is what keeps relationships alive. Call me boomer af, but men and women aren't meant to fully understand each other. You want to know what you guys sound like? Faggots. Like you want to be with another dude because apparently you can't stand not knowing the exact psychology of the person you want to fuck/are fucking.
>yeah, women are driven by socializing
if this is true then i feel so bad for all the women driven into finance or any other male dominated field for the "achievement," they must be profoundly unhappy under the hood
Nice fallacy.
>if something is popular it takes skill
I didn't know watching cape shit took skill user. You're retarded.
for me it's one of titles that should never get anime adaptation because it won't work well, but i said the same thing about dorohedoro and people liked anime
Alright, I'll entertain your argument and let's say that FE's appeal to women started with 7 and began gaining steam with 8. You tacitly stated that the game was casualized by adding grinding, which I would argue would naturally begin to appeal to slightly more women even if the change were implemented by a man. Does this change my argument that FE began appealing to women when it added more leniency for poor mechanical skill and introduced social mechanics between characters? No, my point to begin with wasn't that it suddenly started at Awakening, I never mentioned the game and you were the first to make the distinction. I honestly don't care if it was 8 or Awakening or if you seriously want to argue that it was 7. The fact of the matter is that the series changed in those directions and that's that.
>most women lifegoal in stories written by them is to end up with a nice husband and two kids in a farming house.
Honestly most men want this too. Just that I think men dream a bit bigger than women do when it comes to fantasy, whereas women have slightly more realistic expectations.
They are. I do know some sweet older ladies in manufacturing that are nice though. Maybe for some women the labor is like exercise and helps fight mental disorder and keeps em happy
>most inorganic esports scene ever

What parts of it do you think won't work well? Is it that he is a silent protagonist or because there is a lot rated R stuff in it?
most of them quit their high paying job when they when they reach 30 and are married to a rich guy so they can be housewives.
Any "high" working finance lady has already frozen her eggs or is miserable because she doesn't have babies by 35.
There's a reason why women biological clock start running out of time at 28 and the ones that don't have babies by then, start getting desperate.
The average person just want a nice family and some kids and a job and then dieing old with a pension.
But there's a few % of males who went to the wilderness and brought back tales of unknown lands, monsters and tales of rich cities or dangerous places.
It was usually these guys who came back victorious who had dozens of babies with the best women.
I think it sounds sexist, but I think humans still follow psychologically these situations we had in ancient times.
We're still primitive people living with computers and internet.
>mercy
>taking skill
I think it has everything to do with the IQ curves between men and women. Women usually occupy the middle of the graph, theirs very few stupid women, yet theirs also very few genius women. While with men its much more varied. Most midwits are shit at vidya. Normies are universally trash, people who are good at vidya are usually really stupid or really smart.
I just want to set the record straight that the female audience has always been here, and when it comes to FE people point fingers at awakening. If FE didnt already have an established female fanbase it would have flopped. Hell, there are even Arvis/Sigurd doujins from the 90s floating around on the net. You just personally havent encountered these women, due in large part because for most of FEs lifespan it had a majority japanese fanbase
