Any games inspired by demonology/gnosticism with a dark tone (like SMT) but have more action?

Looks really fun, thanks

>(like SMT)
what is SMT?

Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust

shin megami tensei. it's basically about recruiting demons and gods to fight bigger and more powerful demons and gods. think pokemon but not gay.

Super Mario Tenis

Well there's the SMT action games.

Mario 64 is a freemason ritual

Oh. Is it fun?

Sissy Mutilation Torture

DMC

sounds like a lot of fun, would buy.

not really, the action implementation is widely regarded as piss-poor, but the strengths of some other elements and the general smt milieu has earned it a small cult following.

its worth a shot, for sure

the sequel to that one is alright but they're very clunky, probably worth playing if you're interested

El Shaddai: Ascension of Metatron. Although it's more angelic than demonic.

Literally never heard of this. Looks weird

No

I wish, games usually go the man made monster, eldritch or ghost route.
dmc is probably the closest I can think of

Doesn't LoK / Soul Reaver fit? I know it has some eldritch elements, but it's a mix.

I remember playing those

Raidou Kuzunoha 1/2

Lol, so you're just suggesting more SMT, then?

yes

:( will SMT V ever come out? Do you think it's a Switch 2/pro title at this point?

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 91.03K)

I mean they reconfirmed it for 2021 earlier this year. Switch 2/Pro will be backwards compatible no doubt so I doubt it will be exclusive to that, it will still be on Switch but work on Switch 2/Pro through BC.

this game was so fun. the art and lore made it even better.
Always wishing for a sequel we won’t get.

Umineko, it has heavy occult themes as well as gnosticism too.
Pic related represents the seven deadly sins, and they are biblical demons too.

I'm reading Higurashi manga right now. Currently on Tsumihoroboshi-hen. Do you like Umineko more? I picked up the VN during the steam sale. Gonna get to it once I finish Higurashi's manga.

I'm not sure yet if Higurashi's "culprit" is supernatural, but it seems like it's leaning that way.

The later Castlevania games often borrowed their enemy designs from various religions and folklore, as well as literary works. The Ars Goetia, the Dictionnaire Infernal and the Divine Comedy are only a few sources.
The early games based their enemies on classic horror monsters but the later ones went for some SMT-tier variety. Lots of spirits, demons, deities and so on.
