Naxxramas cleared 90 minutes after release without even using a tank

>Naxxramas cleared 90 minutes after release without even using a tank.

That's it, this was the last bastion. "Vanilla was hard"-fags BTFO forever.

They never had a leg to stand on. We already knew this because Naxx gets cleared quickly even on deliberately buffed private servers with world buffs disabled, because that's what theorycrafting shows (you can calculate theoretical throughput and what the fights actually require, and the requirements are a fraction of what's achievable while genuine difficulty only becomes a factor at low margins), or even a priori by recalling how shit at the game you used to be (or observing terrible level of play from retail vanilla videos) and concluding that any content that those scrubs could beat must in actuality be pathetic.

Very few guilds have cleared this currently.

My guild has only beaten 4 bosses so far.

Vanilla was good because the leveling was slow and people got to know each other while leveling.

Completely different from the zoom zoom shit we have today like FFXIV.

>MMO raids are hard

Are you a game journo?

Nice reading comprehension.

Don't people have talents and honor gear that was originally released after Naxx?

And now they are all forced to accept that the difficulty in raiding during vanilla was never the content but organizing 40 people to all show up at the same time and all stay online for several hours..

Raiding in WoW never had any true difficulty until many expansions in and even then it has NEVER come close to the levels of Savage in FF14.

No.

Besides, the difference compared to even 1.1 state of the game is exaggerated. It's been theorycrafted and 1.12.1 classes and gear are about 30% stronger. Killing bosses in 25 seconds instead of 15 surely makes a difference.

No MMORPG is difficult. The whole concept of an MMORPG relies around making it as accessible as possible for gigantic masses of people. All MMORPGs are baby tier chat platforms.

No but there is a difference of 30%? Which one is it?

WoW was never a good mmo because of the focus on pre-built dungeons and cookie cutter gear builds based around finding the single set designed for your class and specialization. The game should have allowed for some degree of player created content or made multiple dungeons that had enemies too strong to kill, ever, no matter how well coordinated your team was.

>vanilla was hard
It was. At the time.
>people had shitty internet and disconnected all the time
>if they didn't, then they had shitty PCs and lagged to death
>there were less addons, and 3rd party programs to communicate and organise massive raid groups like today where we have discord
>everything was new so people had no idea what they were doing
>datamining wasn't a thing
>they didn't have any time to practice on the raid vs now where apparently people on PTR grinded naxxramas like crazy before it's release
>people also had 15 years of practice on private servers and know every single detail of the game and the classes inside out
>blizzard also massively fucked up progression

wow classic is a joke, the experience is gone and will never come back. You people are deluding yourselves.

>dungeons that had enemies too strong to kill, ever, no matter how well coordinated your team was
That sounds like a billion dollar game design idea.

> guild gets stuck in loatheb
> probably won’t clear patchwerk without world buffs
> 4 horsemen it’s going to be complete shitshow
Wtf bros

>datamining wasn't a thing
false, so false in fact that I can't consider anything else you have to say as having merit

>noooooo you don't understand I MUST have ebin power creep!

Thank fuck you’ll never be allowed near game design. Sometimes I read posts like yours and wonder if there’s some sort of competition on Zig Forums where anons try to make the worst sounding game on purpose.

WoWfags were always delusional. This isn't news.

t. never played Ragnarok Online

Classic has near-identical talents and itemization as retail vanilla would have had during Naxx launch (1.11) and exactly the same talents as retail vanilla had when Naxx was cleared (1.12).

There WAS a difference during earlier simulated patches, but the kind of people who cry something like "muh final patch talents, real MC was more difficult" are full of shit: ~30% difference doesn't matter much when you are overpowering the content by hundreds of percents, it'd be pathetically trivial anyway.

Warriors can just stance dance in Vanilla can't they? Fury can just swap into a shield and defensive stance to soak damage right? So thats not exactly true. Plus I think Progress logged and swapped classes throughout the raid. Not to mention using overpowered flasks probably farmed by chinese bots.

>he thinks classic, a bastardized version of a game that been solved mathematically for over a decade, is the same as vanilla

Yikes.

I don't get it. People have cleared Naxx thousands of times on private servers. Why is it a surprise that they are able to do so on Classic?

Extra strength copium

Reminder that MMOs just elaborate chat interfaces and if you make content difficult enough that people can't joke around in chat while killing shit then you've ruined the whole experience.

Well, the difference is certainly in players. Back then most of my guild was underage and hardly anyone had an alt at level 60.
Today those guilds that clear everything in 2h are professional players who play all day long and have all characters fully kitted out.

MMO raids where hard in 2006 when we where all playing on Dell toasters at 25 fps that could not have a web browser up at the same time, we didnt have microphones to talk so died a lot to standing in the irregular typing WWWWWWWWWW and in general information about the game was so shattershot it was hard to find an exact guild for a lot of things

The abundance of information along our tech allowing us to organise better on discord has killed challenge on MMOs

It's not a surprise. Anyone that thought Naxx was going to remain uncleared for days/weeks on Classic is a moron. It was clear as day that it would be beaten in a matter of hours. Because Vanilla is a solved game, and has been a solved game, mathematically, for 10+ years now.
People have theorycrafted every minuta possible and have figured out the most effective ways to beat every encounter in the best time with the worst gear.

by no tank do you mean 'no prot specced warriors'?

No, it was 30 Mages and 10 Priests and they just insta nuked everything.

World buffs were a mistake
