That scene is way scarier in the original than the remake. Gory horror is pretty underrated these days.

Not him, but RE1 is my favorite because it's pure mid 90's conspiracy kino. It fits right in with the X Files, late night Coast to Coast AM shows, and alt.conspiracy posts.
The original writer left after RE1 and the series drifted away from that atmosphere and got more retarded over time.

The REmake tries way too hard to be scary and has no clue what made the original game so unsettling. It's a product of the early 2000s and apes that gritty Eli Roth horror movie aesthetic that was popular at the time.

Honestly probably the gc or dreamcast. Is superior. Just that small boost of graphics really does help but the ps1 version is still dope and the system it was originally designed for

To this day I believe RE2 was entirely carried by its soul. 1 and 3 had good gameplay to fall back on. It doesn't matter anyway since 4 defeated them all.

Gamecube has the Best graphics and content parity with the PS1 original. PC has extra costumes, skippable door animations and Mercenaries unlocked from the start (via a separate executable.) Dreamcast is like PC but one of Jill's costumes has a tank-top instead of a halterneck.
Also, some dudes Made Hd textures for the GC version.

If youve played through 1 and 2, and got decent at dodging zombies, you shouldnt have too much trouble with 3. 3 loads you up with ammo, and healing items arent that sparse.

Both 2 and its remake are my favorites. I played RE4 recently and beat it on PRO along with all the extra modes and my opinion remains unchanged, fun game though.

Aside co-op I do not find Re5 any worse than Re4, I think it is better at times. I do not want to jump on the bandwagon but for some reason I cannot play RE6, I always end up uninstalling it before finishing a chapter. I do not know what is wrong, I just do not care for it. I would not even know if it is a bad game.

REVII is fucking cool, it is like Outlast or some of the most successful indie horror games but it is actually good.

We need a proper remake of Resident Evil 3 with you know the REST of the game put into it and not what it feels like a movie / abridged version.

I think they're great. Great atmosphere and still hold up despite feeling very much of their time, which makes them comfy to replay. I also adored the RE2make, which was easily my favorite game of 2019 and one of my favorite games of the decade. I didn't really like 4 and thought 7 was just okay. Never played 5-6 but I've heard they're fun co-op games

The only good games in the series. 4 and everything that followed killed it, fuck the new remakes, fuck the CGI movies and fuck Paul Anderson too.
