Fuck this shit

Fuck this shit.

I got my ass whooped by Lady Butterfly probably 40 times, beat her, then didn't have trouble with the game at all aside from Demon of Hatred.
It's a very strange learning curve.

This was pretty much my experience as well just with a different second boss. Lady Butterfly and Genichiro (top of tower) were really the only fights in the game where git gud anal raped me for a bit. Outside of those fights I never even died on most bosses well into the NG+++ etc cycle.

just dodge lol

i beat this dood in 5 tries, lady butterfly in 2 tries, but i couldn't beat the woman with the umbrella shotgun (where the long range gun dudes just shoot down on you) and i just quit

>tfw died to pre-Isshin Genichiro than Isshin

His grab hitboxes are fucking awful. And when he leaps, he somehow changes his trajectory mid air to track you.
Don't know how this guy made it in the game like that.

Its OK when Miyahacki does it.

Still stuck on second owl fight, I can’t take this shit anymore.

>when Sekiro just came out and Zig Forums got filtered by this dude

It's a fight that appears designed to teach you to not dodge through hitboxes like darksouls, but it's pretty clumsily implemented. Especially because of the environment.

>mfw beat Owl 2 on NG+ today
Did I finally git gud?

I think you acquired skill when you beat Isshin. Still, there's always charmless

anything in particular that's fucking with you?

>stealth is so broken it trivializes the entire level
>never learn how to fight
>can't beat the first boss

His insane range and speed.

he just wanted a hug

what is this
is it an american thing?

I had a similar experience with Demon's Souls on the flamefucker.
I don't think I even died to a boss for the rest of the game after that

you can just run past her homie

There's only so many things he can do, just predict his actions based on his positioning and you can keep the fight at your preferred pace. I'm a shitter and I beat Inner Father Owl.

The only tip I could give is that the Umbrella blocks gunpowder, so keep that as a panic button if you want.

its a pool filter

I figured if I couldn't beat a midboss I'm just bad and just cut my losses

only problem is grab attack which is janky

Ah yes, the european.

Just throw oil at him and use the fire pipe. Maximum damage.

a what now

Keep at it, user. Make sure to figure out his combo that leads into the gunpowder so you can GTFO in time. That was the biggest thing getting me killed, at least

a place to go because americans are lazy

thanks bros, gonna keep at it.

You'll adapt as you figure out his combos. If you can get past Genichiro you can get pass Owl 2.0. Not to say Genny is harder, but beating him shows that you understand the combat. Some specific tips for Owl Daddy:
The gunpowder slash comes off of a shoulder barge in this version. Dodge through it (preferably to the right) to be safe. The Fire Umbrella can block/deflect the hit.
His backflip in phase 1 doesn't have a shuriken toss, so you safely heal after he does it
His shuriken gap closer comes in two flavours. 1 throw followed by the quick chasing slice, 2 throws followed by the leaping slash. Dodge the leap slash to get a punish, but block the chasing slice.
His biggest mix up is his standing overhead cut, which he can swap into a horizontal cut if you dodge or a leaping cut if you run away from him. Count 1, 2 then dodge/deflect the overhead cut to figure out the timing. He will always use this after a sweep if you don't kick him or aerial cut him. If you don't like dealing with the move, use said kicks or cuts during his sweep to cancel the whole thing.
In general Owl is very flighty and has great posture regeneration, but his vitality isn't very high. Works his HP down a bit before trying to build posture. Ashina Cross and Mortal Draw are great for this.
In phase 2 when he teleports, you can always just run far away, he won't hit. For his Fire Owl, leap the owl and mikiri the shadowfall.

>Zig Forums can't even beat sekiro
lmao you're worse than reddit

Stealth really isn't a big thing apart from handful of situations. You're just bad, user.

I really think Sekiro can work as a fighting game. That game is beautiful.

Same. Lost to Lady Butterfly a shitton, then breezed through up until a small roadbump at Owl, and then didn't really have trouble again until Isshin Ashina and Demon of Hatred at the end.
