HOLY SHIT
HOLY SHIT
Isnt it meant to be out in 2020??
The original was terrible and this will suck
>more abeshit
who cares. the side scrollers are a snoozefest. they need to bring back 3d oddworld games.
t. zoomers
The fact that there's a crafting element bothers me. Oddworld didn't need that UNLESS it was purely to make your own Soulstorm Brew. It looks like it might be good, but that crafting garbage is a bit of a red flag.
Strangers Wraith had the most world building and style of the entire series and deserves a sequel
Nah
The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot
Thats what we really need
>It looks like it might be good
It looks awful in every single aspect. What the fuck happened to Lanning?
>Console exclusive for a year
>No longer slave skinny and looks like they've all been hitting the gym.
>Super serious grimdark, not even any grimderp that the entire series is known for.
>Has fucking rail shooting.
>Ruined the voices of the mudokons by just making them pitched up people talking normally instead of sounding like depressed junkies.
I mean, none of this sounds good. Unless they manage to unfuck everything before it's released.
This literally looks like what happened to Killing Floor, it even has the same terrible neo-horror art style where everything glows and is steam punk, where as the old style was industrial dystopia before. A very example of soul vs soulless.
So how are they going to tie the Mudoken insurgency into Stranger's Wrath?
I'd take Fangus or another Stranger game, since his story was left unfinished.
>>Super serious grimdark
What? If anything it's ridiculously cartoony compared to the previous games.
Originally, there was no indication that Stranger's Wrath happened within Abe's lifetime. Crossing Abe and Stranger over would be really weird. Especially since grubbs were clearly stand-ins for mudokons.
I kind of wish they just made the Abe's Exoddus remake a glorified New N' Tasty expansion maybe with a slightly altered plot so they can tell the story they've allegedly always wanted to tell, instead of reworking the entire basis of the Abe games from the ground up. The direction this game is taking seems extremely risky. Too risky for a studio as volatile as modern Oddworld Inhabitants.
That xbox oddworld game was way better than I thought it would be, just got around to it recently.
Stranger's Wrath was one of the best games for the original Xbox. It made the system's otherwise crappy 2005 worth havng.
Why is it so difficult for an original and new Oddworld game to be made? Is Lanning a mega autist with a stick shoved up his ass?
He's the opposite of an autist, if anything.
retards with terrible taste. oddworld 1+2 are some of the best ps1 games and have aged very well, controls are still tight
>no one remembers or cares about Strangers Wrath
the first half was good
He's getting the chance to tell an epic story with all the advantages of modern technology. I'm just sad it's taken an eternity to make.
I don't like the art of gameplay direction. I'm happy to see the vykkers return, but I think we've already seen all that there is to them. There's so much of the world that hasn't been depicted, it's a shame to see more retreading. We've still never seen who the consumers are. The ones who actually buy the paramite pies and scrab cakes.
Clakkerz
Kind of, I guess. He's really obsessed with the idea of the Oddworld Quintology and that it HAS to be done perfectly. Abe's Exoddus doesn't align with his vision so obviously Soulstorm is an attempt to make it conform to that vision. One must wonder though if all the resources and precious years spent working on this remake that fans probably won't even like as much as the original would have been better spent working on the 3rd quintology game (Abe's Oddysee > Munch's Oddysee > the cancelled Squeek's Odysee).
The guy is 56 years old, I hope he knows what he's doing and has given himself ample time to finish his vision. Soulstorm honestly seems like a huge waste of time to me considering Exoddus wasn't even considered as being a main part of the Quintology back in the day.
Why are they spending time remaking the old games that only 0.01% of boomers remember when they could be making new games?
Isn't Mullock supposed to end up being one of the heroes who saves Oddworld? Maybe Soulstorm is leading up to that.
It's a bummer since I liked how Exoddus turned out. I'm not sure why Lorne thinks it was such a failure. It had the best art direction, too. Every location felt completely unique and alien. I've still never seen another environment like Bonewerkz or Necrum. Even Oddysee had straightforward places like Paramonia and Monsaic Lines. It's a shame we likely won't play Squeek's game, or even know the names of the other 2 heroes.
Where did you hear that? That sounds awesome, as long as it isn't cheesy.
I used to imagine that as a kid.
I read it sometime after Stranger's Wrath bombed and everyone assumed the series was dead. I couldn't tell you where. Basically the plotline was after the destruction of SoulStorm the Magog Cartel wants to capture Mullock for a trial and a quick death sentence. He ends up fleeing into the wasteland and is captured by the Mudokons. Gradually they learn of the Glukkons history and how they were originally lived in peace until the appearance of the Mudokon Moon which cause them to fear and hide from the Mudokons, eventually causing them to turn into what they are now. Mullock realizes what they've become and how he has to save them from destroying the world.
>Isnt it meant to be out in 2020??
Yeah still no release date though with a mere 26 days left of this year. Pretty safe to say it's not coming out until 2021 by this point...
Same with System Shock.
by first half you mean everything that happens before Strangers real idenity is revealed? Seems like a completely different game after that
