Why is PlayStation more popular?

Seriously why do normies prefer PlayStation over Xbox? PlayStation has a reputation of dying after a year of use, gpus and optical drives failing, hackers online and all that shit that’s absent from the Xbox master race. Why do you pay for this shit?

better japanese games

>PlayStation has a reputation of dying after a year of use, gpus and optical drives failing, hackers online and all that shit that’s absent from the Xbox master race.
???
is it a meme?

Brand name. Sony has become the Apple of consoles. "Muh exclusives" is not a good excuse.

MS fucked up with the xbone's launch and gave Sony the entire gen. Maybe gen 9 will have a less skewed market share between the companies.

MS won me over with BC and gamepass though, I won't lie. Don't see any reason to get either of the next gen consoles for a while but leaning towards the sex atm.

same, i just see zero real reason to get into playstation. some of the games look neat but i'm not prepared to shell out $70 for one when i could play from the game pass library

Oh man the $70 attempt at games too. Fuck that noise. The only games I liked PS for are the Japanese games and thankfully those seem to be coming to the switch as well. I hate their first party movies as well.

>PlayStation has a reputation of dying after a year of use, gpus and optical drives failing, hackers online and all that shit that’s absent from the Xbox master race.
Well let's start with all of that being stuff you made up

As for why it's more popular
>Sony puts out like 3 games on launch, one of which is an exclusive From title which are gamer crack
>Microsofts flagship franchise is stumbling gormlessly to having development restarted, cancelled, or duct taped together into something that will at least get to a yellow number on Metacritic over the next year

games matter, a lot, and Phil just dosen't get them done

>PlayStation has a reputation of dying after a year of use, gpus and optical drives failing

I've using my PS4 fat just fine after 6 years, you are just out of luck or talking out your ass.

Nintendo is the Apple of consoles.

Don Mattrick completely fucked over the Xbox brand in a way that even the red ring of death couldn't do. I mean where do you start? The planned always online DRM, focusing on TV over gaming when you're launching a games console, making a console and bundling it with a camera no one wanted and selling it for more than the competition while also being less powerful. I haven't seen someone kneecap themselves at the start of a generation so badly since Sega launched the Saturn.

It's really as simple as the exclusives.

Sony timer is a thing
Oddly enough I do odd console repairs as a side job and the majority of shit I have to fix is Playstation

>I haven't seen someone kneecap themselves at the start of a generation so badly since Sega launched the Saturn.
Come on, it was bad but not THAT bad.

EXCLUSIVES

Why would you go with an Xbox? To play better ea, Ubisoft, activision games? If you care so much about gears/forza/halo then you’ll probably already got one. The trannystation at least have some variety of games
You can’t get anywhere else the Xbox dont.

blood born
God of war
Horizon Zero Dawn
Uncharted
Sack boy

I don't really get the appeal of Sony's exclusives, desu

Just better games all around and it isn't redundant with a PC.

>PlayStation has a reputation of dying after a year of use, gpus and optical drives failing,
My PS3 from 2014 is still alive and kicking retard.
>hackers online and all that shit that’s absent from the Xbox master race.
Proof? Hacking on console is incredibly difficult as it is. That's like the only thing online games have going for them on console.
>Why do you pay for this shit?
Exclusives and a better controller. I'd buy SeX if it were basically a budget PC that lets you use MKB with all games, have mod support, and go back to free online but since both consoles lack this the choice is obvious.

Playstation has always been better until this newest gen. Xbox is a better purchase. 4th time is the charm i guess

but all of those are shit games

>Why would you go with an Xbox? To play better ea, Ubisoft, activision games?
Those all play better on PS5

Normies have been psyopped into unironically enjoying Sony exclusive walking sims

Anybody that isn't a retarded zoomer realizes that its because the Xbox One had such an unbelievably awful reveal and launch that all momentum went to the PS4.

I didn't even care about it before, but all that xbox shilling on Zig Forums made me despise the brand
Glad playstation is winning once again

sure snoy

Precisely, just like that
I'm half convinced most cringe "snoy" posters are actually sony shills trying to make xbox fans look retarded

This individual says that PlayStation used to be cool until Sony did the second and third horrible mistakes

Successful marketing, nothing else

Im back after abandoning this shithole when the console wars were at full swing a few months ago.
Are the Xbox people back in hiding again or are there many of these cope threads

I only ever had a hardware malfunction with the original playstation. My psone and everything else that came after still work today.

It's just brand recognition. Nobody gave a shit about Xbox until the 360 gained traction with online multiplayer. By that time the PS2 was already being labeled the best console ever

>final fantasy
>dmc
>resistance
>fightin games
>ResEvil

also sony playstation was in market for over 6 years before am xbox was bought

Just wait until the next Skyrim or Fallout comes out. As things are Xbox is offering nothing to entice brand loyal people away from playstation, not even Halo

Aren't PS4 (and PS5 by extension since they use the same stick components) just as drift prone as the Switch?
