switch version has new content but the definitive edition ports keep the exact same switch graphics with lower poly models for everything in the game. grass, trees, the terrain, character models, houses, every single object is all lower poly.

Instead of re-building the additions to be patched into the old engine, they ported the Switch version wholesale.
