Don't Starve Together come and play a while

I made a thread yesterday trying to gauge interest in this game. It seems like the consensus is Zig Forums is just not good at this game. But there's some interest in it.
I wanted to see if anyone was up, and interested in learning how to play this game right.

Don't Starve Together is a survival game where you try your best to set up food and a decent base to survive Winter, Spring, Summer, and your second Autum.
There's several bosses and some are seasonal.
The First boss is Deerclops. She is the winter monster who always arrives on the 30th day at night. Her goal is to destroy your base so you should leave base to a temporary fireplace elsewhere. Be sure to have some way to stay warm. (Hat, thermal stone, fireplace, torch to light something on fire.)
She has a great sanity drain so it's best to defeat her quickly to avoid creating shadow monsters, and have some sort of sanity regeneration on hand.

She has a melee attack that freezes you if you get hit by her. So the attack pattern is two hits then run and wait for her attack. This is how you kite her.
She's the second easiest boss.

or just drag deerclops into the swamp and let tentacles kill her
thats what i usually do

The optional winter boss is named Klaus. He's an ornery being who's goal is to skin you alive for opening his sack.

To open Klaus's sack you must wait for a herd of No Eyed Deer to grow their horn during winter. These deer spawn in Mosaic Biomes or in the Deciduous forest.

Back to Klaus. Klaus has a two swing melee attack and a fire and ice magic attack which will burn or freeze you respectively. This magic appears on the ground under you as a patch and slows you down. Simply walk out of it before it sets off. His melee attack is also easy to avoid just two to three hits and run and dodge.
Klaus arrives with two deer. These deer have gems on their heads and are responsible for the magic attacks. They won't melee you until you hit them. But don't be fooled. Klaus loves his deer very much. In fact he loves them so much that if you kill one he loses his shit and gains 17,440 health (total 27,440), 205.8 attack, and his sanity drain is 100 per minute. Basically don't kill the deer. Rewards do not increase for beating pissed Klaus.
One thing you will notice is Klaus has a lock on his chest. Klaus has a second state if you dont kill the deer where he launches himself at you attempting to kill you. He will not use magic at this stage.

That's a strategy you can use but Deerclops is not that hard so you can kill her solo without using tentacles which may or may not work without killing yourself to collect the loot after. Tentacles is for lone players not good at killing her.

or lazy people who dont feel like dealing with icy slowdown slams
like me

The next seasonal boss is named Moose goose. She's single and ready to mingle, err mangle* you.
She's the easiest Don't Starve together boss and she is a single mother. Moose Goose appears 2 to 4 days into Spring and can actually appear in multiple spots at ponds that have her spawner. She has 6,000 health and has two attacks.
Her first attack is a melee attack which one can do the simple two hit dodge pattern we've discussed prior. She does not have a sanity drain. But she does have a honk call that makes you drop what ever is in your hands. Just pick your weapon back up and kite her again. Repeat until dead.
But there's one thing you might have noticed if you left her alive for more than a day. A cute little nest with a giant egg in it appears. You can break the egg with a hammer (not recommended since the egg is electrified and causes damage to you for every hit) or let it hatch on its own for a cute little bundle of 5 babies. These are moslings. They're a simple miniboss. They have 525 health, and they're very cute and VERY hungry. These little bastards eat any food item on the ground. They will steal from your farms if near base, so crops, bushes, etc. But if you hit one you hit em all so to speak. The rest will enrage and turn into mini tornados spinning into you flinching you to death. If you dodge em they become dizzy making it a prime opportunity to kill em all.

Since we're talking about mothers lets talk about the meanest one of all. Dragonfly.
She a dopey looking dragon who is locked to the center of several magma pools in the Dragonfly dessert. The dragonfly desert is recognized by tumbleweeds, hound mounds, and most importantly fat chode looking cacti. Triple prong cacti are a part of the Oasis dessert. So be aware of the difference.
Now Dragonfly can be fought any season and she is not easy to beat as a new player. She will only attack you if you get close and sure you can two hit kite her til she falls for a moment allowing you to hold "f" and beat the hell out of her, but she doesn't go down that easily. Because even after you down her for the first time she'll rise again and fly off. But when she flies off she'll be going to her several magma pools to spawn her lava larva.
They do simple melee attacks but the danger with them is the fire upon death and during combat. This will easily melt your health and Dragonfly will fly right back to finish the job. Her babies explode into flames if left alone long enough and there's a method to stop them from getting to you. Building walls around her lava pools or making a single long wall through a magma pool to make them think they can move through the "hole". This lets them die to their own timer.
But momma Dragonfly isn't done yet. she just like Klaus has an enraged state which will light her ablaze and cause fire damage to you just being near her. She will ground pound destroying any structure near her. Be sure to carry a pan flute to stop her the moment she become enraged. Blow the pan flute to calm her down. Then attack her. Only play the pan flute when she is mad. The only way to make them is with a rare mandrake which does not regrow or the one at PK. They have limited use.
Continue this cycle til dead. She has 27,500 health, 75 melee, increased to 112.5 when enraged. Don't run too far from her or she'll return to her spot resetting the entire fight.

There's one more seasonal boss but I'm going to call it for now. If anyone else is interested in discussing this game feel free to.
One more thing for new players. Dogs/hounds spawn on any day between 6 to day 11. They are easy horde mobs that can be two hit kited. They are seasonal spawns and during certain seasons certain types appear. Ice hounds, normal hounds, or fire hounds. The fire hounds being the worst. They burn things upon death. so move away from base during the fire hound warnings. The ice hounds just freeze you or nearby mobs if killed, both give red or blue gems respectively. They drop hound teeth and monster meat.

If anyone is interested in playing this game look up Beard777 on youtube for more guides. It's how I came to understand this game. Night!

I play with my friends, I just play Wolfgang and try to make them as mad as possible.

Best character is Wickerbottom.

user I can’t okay play now but if you add me on steam I’ll play sometime. Steam is nipplewizard with the gnoll avatar

The worst part is I can't tell if you're fucking around or not.

Thanks for the tips, OP.

There's a lot of information for this game just to survive til winter. How does everyone make it through winter?

Nah that me I promise

hunt meat
make meatballs
look for walrus father and son
murder the shit out of walrus father and son
take scottish hat and walrus tooth back for sanity bonus and walking stick

Anyone try the farm rework? I'm not a fan. Really shouldn't be more complicated then farm sims.
2 crockpots, an icebox to stockpile food, a thermal stone, and a winter hat. That's about all you need.

Based, I have no idea why is this game not popular here

The farming rework is such fucking garbage. I understand they wanna nerf Wickerbottom and making farming more valuable. But it isn't. They made farming worse and now bushes seems like the best solution. Especially since juicy berries give more yield during a read than crops. Why arent some crops annual instead of by harvest? Why do they only give you one crop? Corn should give more just by the updated appearance.
Reading wont give large crops.

They made Wormwood "better" , "better" because they made farming so shitty that he improves the shit mechanics more.

Why not add magic crops that raise health, power boost, maybe makes armour, enchants, or something. So growing them is more important.
This better lead to a beanstalk or something. Moving DS to the sky would be a nice change of pace.

Because Zig Forums is trash at this game. They can't survive past winter. Hell some can't beat
No one knows how to play. And it's frustrating for new players.

You can give me your steam if you prefer

Nah I'll send a request later. When are you up to play? I'm on the w we st coast.

They could have just removed the basic farm and adjusted the cost of improved farms. Maybe made them hold 2 or 3 crops instead. I don't even get the complaints about current farming. I can easily get a 5x5 setup before spring. The last time I setup farms I had 19 before winter. It always seems to come from the people who "ruins rush" the first 10+ days, come back with nothing, build nothing, and say picking a base spot before day 10 is early. At least disease is gone. That's something.

How are you getting all this food that stuff only lasts for a day.

make a fridge
stuff takes twice as long to spoil in there
meatballs recover a shitload of hunger and only cost 0.5 meat and no sticks
so 1 monster meat/morsel + 3 ice/berries works fine
spiders are a great source of monster meat

If they did something with the disease time that would have been great. Removing it entirely was fine too.

Nobody understood the pig method. Worm and Wick could get 100+ poop spamming the farm.

I rarely see ruins rush because newbies just wanna hold hands exploring instead of just looking around for themselves. I can't even go off to lunar because no one sets up base or gets food.
I got all the filler, spider eggs, base set up, on my own. Then I come back from lunar to find out nobody got winter supplies after I did everything. Genuinely frustrating playing with new people.

Berry farms and ice will last for most of winter as long as you don't have base squatters.

If you are having food problems try Wendy. Abigail is an absolute monster at farming mobs. She can solo tier 3 spider dens, pengull groups, bunnymen villages, all at no risk to Wendy. Wigfrid is pretty easy too, if you setup at Pig King.
Drying racks are good too. Jerky takes 20 days to spoil. But they are secondary to crockpots.

this game is genuinely impossible. i'll never understand how to play it and i don't care.

My baby is sick with a cold so I got to nip that in the bud and then I can

>Wilson the gentleman scientist and a man who outplayed Maxwell
>Still only has a fucking beard as ""power""
>Overshadowed by Winona in DST and Wagstaff in DS
>Dude puns lmao
Klei you fucking leafs do smth
