The gameplay is a lot better and has a decent amount of variety in how characters play, but it's severely lacking in content. You can 100% the game in a solid week or two.

I say that as someone who actually likes the Davyback fight arc, but its easily One Piece's weakest arc outside of Gaimon's exotic island.

I wouldn't say worst, Davy Back Game was an atrocity and most of the anime filler arcs were even better than that.
Dressrosa was disappointing though. You had CP0, a Warlord, an admiral, a fighting tournament, a bunch of new introduced factions, lots of returning characters and it still managed to be slow as all hell when it should have been the next perfect storm like W7/Enies Lobby. Oda lost his ability to juggle too much shit happening at once.
The thing I hate most about the timeskip is the loss of smaller arcs. There need to be more arcs like Little Garden, Amazon Lily, and Sabaody pt1. The only small arc we've gotten was Zou and the timeskip is 10 years old

One Piece is great, but it's more an adventure manga with a pirate aesthetic that varies from arc to arc.
