Paper Mario 64

How the fuck can a mario game have so much fucking S O U L?

because it was the first game you played as a kid

The artsyle is just incredible. Best looking N64 game. Up there with Yoshi's Story and kirby 64

Only this and the Gamecube Paper Marios are any good, the rest goes from meh to shit.

Nah that was Gradius III

It's great, I was happy to revisit with the hard mode hacks too. I liked it when the games (even TTYD at some points) were just themselves and weren't focused on some kind of meta humor or quick quips.

>zoomer getting filtered
Kek
Because Miyamoto has his bullshit away from it

Bowser’s Inside Story and Superstar Saga

The Buu has bows and character.

True.

>great music
>nice slow-paced story
>amazing levels (flower fields, shy guys toybox, volcano dungeon, desert dungeon, boo level)
>doesn't try to hard to be quirky like the new games, actually is dark and melancholic
>has an amazing side story where you play as peach

I can never decide which is better, 64 or TTYD. Oragami king was fun but still doesn't compare.

Reminder that there's about 1427 days left until the world finds out how Nintendo fucks up the next Paper Mario
I wish the Star Town was larger and more interesting, I understand that Bowser's castle was the focus for chapter 8 but still
Yeah they're equally on par, it's hard to choose a favorite between the two

TTYD had a better written story, but outside of the combat, it's a whole downgrade willed with boring backtrack/fetchquest just to stretch out the game

I think TTYD had better level design as well as the capital city being better.

Origami King still had a better story than 64 and TTYD. Its willingness to kill off characters and deal with the depressing aftermath is what gave it a stronger story overall. Probably the first Mario game to seriously tackle and handle the topic of death.

sounds fucking cringe desu

Oh no, Bobby has been poisoned. Choose the correct bob-omb and give them the antidote to save their life!

Oragami king had a great story but the constant ironic humor and 4th wall breaking kills my vibe plus the combat sucked and I would rather there not be oragami characters but just regular paper characters. The whole oragami thing just feels like another forced gimmick. Overall I had a great time playing it but didn't quite live up to the originals.

64's world design is way better. Everything is connected. Toad Town is an actual hub that feels like the center of the world, while Rogueport in TTYD isn't really connected to anything, you just take warp pipes and warp to a different place.

Errm, his name is Bob-Omb, understood?

actually bobby is unique because he lacks the match
technically all of these are bobby

honestly I didn't even know that, but now that means there isn't nearly enough antidote to save all of them

it's even better with hd textures.

Whoops, silly me.

>there will never be another mario rpg like the first 2 paper marios, superstar saga, and seven stars
bros...

>The people criticizing ToK haven't even played the game
Surprise surprise

>You just want more of the same game!
>proceeds to eat up THREE (3) Sticker Star games
>Paper Mario has now appeared in more bad games then good
>AlphaDream is dead because of internal retardation, remade a game that the original could be played on the same system and didn’t remake the one game in the series that needed one
>even if it didn’t get shitcanned, Miyamoto/Tanabe autism started to show and suck the soul out, from simple shit like Luigis socks to the personality and style of the games
>only thing keeping SPMRPG alive in memory is the extremely vocal Geno for Smash fans
>PM is confirmed to be the experimental spinoff and will Frankenstein it’s way through life support forever

Neither have the proper rainbow effect on the ground only achievable on original hardware.

I was 14 when I played Paper Mario.
