I don't remember this being hard unless you're a shitter
For me it was harder than Syphon Filter 2 and people keep saying that one was a pain in the ass.
Such good cover art
Just tase everybody till they turn into flames. thats how you beat this game
SF2 on hard mode put hair on my little chest back then. I remember it was the first time I challenged myself to get through a hard difficulty and I think it's why I love hard games now.
i swear to god the hardest part of SF2 hard mode was the end of the first level where you need to kill a bunch of flak jacket dudes before they kill the GIs
I remember there's always a section or another that's somewhat hard, like ones where there's insta headshot snipers/bosses, but it ends up being a matter of practice.
The hard modes were pretty hard.
Not difficulty related but that part where the enemy NPC tells you to freeze and gets creamed by a flaming van is still one of the most memorable memories I have from a game. I think it might have been babbys first scripted moment.
SF was like a modern shooter on PS1 in a lot of ways, I still have the cheesy NOOOOO when that guy's friend gets blown out of the Pharcom building ingrained in my head.
I always wish it had a PC version, I feel it would have worked with keyboard and mouse perfectly if you still had to zoom into first person to aim.
>tfw got filtered by some mission in sf3 where you have to escort a jeep in the desert and haven't bothered to play the game again since
you didn't miss much, SF3 is easily the weakest of the ps1 trilogy
I remember some stealth level in 2 giving me a hard time for a bit
i remember some tricky sections
but i only played on normal i think
STALKER SoC, pistols only, master difficulty w/ REDUX mod.
SF2's train level is my favorite train level in any game.
I know the control scheme wouldn't work today at all but I want to see another game like classic SF. There's just something about it that isn't in other games like it.
the guy that runs at you screaming while on fire always scared the shit out of me
what the fuck even is a syphon filter?
that level is pure kino
SF2 had one of the best soundtracks on the PS1 imo

When you do this but with a filter
FOXDIE.
sounds like you just got sython filtered
I just beat that one. It took pretty long to finish it the first time.
The first King's Field game on PSX (II for nips)
Granted most of the difficulty was figuring out where to go and a lot of the cryptic bs near the end.
Getting all trophies on strafe on ps4
This is a Syphon Filter thread.
>10 years old
>play sf2
>mission 2, the one in the airbase hospital
>come to the part where the guard is looking through the small port and there's a door
>spend literally a year occasionally playing it and never figuring it out
>suddenly one day keep holding down SELECT
>see that there's a tazer (the one you got from the locker)
>suddenly the rest of the game opens up for me
When I was 10 the standard protocol for me was to press every button at the start of the game to figure out what they do. Although i remember SF1 threw you right into the action.

Lian was my first waifu before I learned the concept of waifu and she still is
Which one had the guys in full armor and you had to shoot the little chemical-filled beakers to kill them?
That was the second one. Near the end of the game I believe. You could use a grenade launcher in that mission but you had to he careful because sometimes the enemies' burning corpses would fly at you and kill you.
SF3 multiplayer was kino.
You could select dozens of different characters to play as.
This one?

That mission scared me so much. The fact that you couldn't just shoot those guys was scary as fuck.
I remember playing SF2 multiplayer with my friend. It basically turned into a match of who could find the grenade launcher first.
Literally the most powerful weapon ever conceived for a video game.
After a minute they don't even scream anymore.
I was mesmerized by the multiplayer and potential. I wasn't aware of PC multiplayer gaming by then, so I was wondering how it would be if the 2 people playing couldn't see each other's part of the screen.
>take towel
>fix it to the top of the TV
>hold the other part in my mouth
>serves as a separator preventing my friend seeing me
>i can see his, but i never look because i love the idea of such multiplayer
Can't believe I've done that.
Yeah it was 2. I also remember a mission inside a museum that was more stealth based (in the first game I think) and one where two warring factions were fighting it out with you in the middle. Man those first two games were great. Sadly I never got to play 3 as the little center spindle thing that held the disc in place broke on my Playstation by the time 3 came out.
I'm a filthy casual and looping on Risk of Rain 2 on Monsoon (before there was actually an end) a few times is probably some of the sweatiest most frustrating gaming I've ever done in my life
Daily reminder that these made fucking Bubsy, twisted metal 3 and 4 and now Days Gone.
I wish SF would somehow make a return one day.

That mission took place at some compound in Kazakhstan. You were looking for some kind of missile silo and basically every enemy was wearing flak jackets. It was hard as fuck but the key was to get a high fire rate weapon like the G11 or G18 because it was easier to pull of a headshot with those
GABRIEL LOGAN! ALWAYS THE OPTIMEEST!
For me it was the subway chase and shootout "boss fight" with that Russian bitch.
Just taser everybody lmao
