OP they LITERALLY just had their tv shows 20th anniversary last year which included them remaking the original Digimon Adventure and even re-produced their 1997 Tamgotchi line to celebrate it. They have been around for over two decades how have they failed?

It's stupid. More so when you look over at Pokemon and see that Charmander turns into Chameleon into Charizard and that's it. They look similar and are exclusive lines.

If Squirtle could turn into Tangela and also Chansey could but then either could turn into Rhydon wearing night vision goggles. I feel stupider just writing this but that's Digimon.

Pokemon games have been the exact same shit for the past two decades. At least digimon tries different things.
That and Cybersluts shows how digimon knows their original audience has grown up and changed accordingly, while pokemon has always been and will always be a chldren/manchildren game.

Because this "success" is nothing compared to what it could have been.
They are just being carried by hardcore autists who grew up with the series.

It varies. For starters, Pokemon was a simple baby RPG with the gimmick of trading Pokemon, special versions with separate Pokemon to entice more to trade and (originally) a base style of monster that ranged from cute to fierce.

Digimon mirrored that but Digimon is more complex and varied in artstyle and logic. There is a weakness cycle of Type of Digimon along with Element, the concept of the worlds is more thought provoking and the concept of Evolution much more advanced and complicated.

You can joke and point at some Pokemon and note how they don't look like one or whatever... But Digimon is so much crazier with what can and cannot be a digimon. As well, Digimon did keep tacking on new gimmicks. While Pokemon has it's gimmicks, few last much to the ire of the fans... With Digimon, there is so many types of Evolutions in story
