ITT: JRPG's

Please post great JRPG's.
What's your favourite game?
Which one are you playing right now?

I barely played ps1 JRPG's, what are the must play titles?

Please reply to my thread ;_;

My favorite is Valkyrie Profile and I'm not currently playing any

Lufia II

Spent half my summer as a kid playing Golden Sun 1 + 2 and had an amazing time. Other than that I've only played FF 5,6,7. There's a ton of rpgs I'd like to play but I never get to them.

I wouldn't consider Dragon's Crown a JRPG. It's a beat em' up more than anything

Play Moon.

>great jrpgs
>dragalia lost
what

I wanted to play another Etrian Odyssey game seeing as I've only played IV and V, but I could only find expensive copies of the game and I like to own the physical copies of the games I have, so instead I started watching Made in Abyss and I'm going to start playing Persona Q. I also have a copy of Knights in the Nightmare on the way so I may start on that once I'm done with Persona Q.

Thx for the replies anons.

Will definitely play it soon.

Nice, I thought I played most snes jrpgs, will check it out.

Yeah Golden Sun was nice.

Took some pic from google didnt actually play these games.

Does Atelier count? I've been playing Ryza, my favorite was probably Firis. Anyone else feel like Ryza progresses super fast? I mean I'm not at the end yet or even close, but there's such a limitation in items that you just jump rank to B and A rank items and even S rank items if you're lucky that I wonder if the next part of the game for me (the Tower) is the end. The road was there since the beginning, but was apparently the most dangerous spot all along? But yeah, Firis at least had a nice progression of killing monsters, getting certain amount of items and a nice stable progression of items, but Ryza just throws stuff at you. Maybe I progressed through the areas too quickly?

what's the 1st and 4th game in this pic

1st is Dragons Crown

I believe they're Dragon's Crown and Dragalia Lost.

Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time. One of the few RPGs that actually lets you role-play, not to mention the awesome combat system

Bought a bunch of atelier games but never played them, the time limit was kinda stressing me out.
I know its not that important but it makes it feel like a job...

Is this only on Switch?

speaking of dragon's crown, I wonder if you can play it co-op on a hacked PS3. Sure feels lonely playing it offline.

Yeah but I wouldn’t be surprised if it emulates perfectly since it’s a PS1 game.

There is no transkation as far as I know though.

>What's your favourite game?
Don't know. Used to think it was FF7. But, I really can't be arsed to finish replaying it. Everytime I tried to replay it, I'd just stop midway.
>Which one are you playing right now?
Currently I'm replaying TWEWY on an emulator.
>I barely played ps1 JRPG's, what are the must play titles?
Any of the FFs and FFT. Tactics Ogre, Last Remnant, Valkyrie Profile, Persona.

No, I totally get it. It's important though because alchemy feeling like a job is a part of the immersion. Even the characters talk about it because that's what alchemy basically is. You could use it for whatever, but the characters usually use it to do jobs like helping fix something or solving a problem. The time limit does stress you out, but once you finish a play through, you take what you get and you can do it again and hopefully better this time now that you know what to expect. It's like being a mugen loop protagonist. In the case of Arland series, you even get different story content by playing the game again. If you don't like time limits though, Mysterious series is nice, Firis has a kind of stressful time limit because you don't know what to expect, but that's a part of the fun. Sophie and Lydie and Suelle are a lot more stress free and you can basically do whatever although not forever because content gets gated by your progression unlike something like Firis.

How's Bravely Second compared to Bravely Default?

>favorite game
skies of arcadia
>playing right now
ni no kuni but very on and off

It was released in English a few months ago on switch.

I’m saying you could probably emulate the switch version pretty well.

Don't bother with Dragalia Lost (the 4th), it's utter garbage. The story, characters, music, atmosphere, and especially the gameplay; nothing stands out. And it doesn't help that it's a mobile gacha.
The only good thing was its menu theme a while ago.

>Dragalia lost
more like an action-lite mobile game but I appreciate your effort user
>favorite game
between Xenoblade and Bravely Default
>which one are you playing right now
Etrian Odyssey 4

Some of my favourites; FF IX, X, Shadow Hearts II, Ar Tonelico II, atelier Totori, Xenogears.

pic kinda related, I wanna start the XBlades, but my autism demands that I first play the Saga trilogy (only beat I many years ago) and BladeX.

Tough call between Persona 4 and Dark Cloud 2, I'd say Persona 4 just because memories
>Playing right now
Just beat the final boss of Radiant Historia, going for the extra ending next. After I'm done I'll probably start Nocturne or DDS2. If I do nocturne, not sure if I should buy the switch one or just use my old ps3 download. Anyone have experience with switch nocturne?

Uhh you play 5 games simultaneously?

It sure as fuck isn't.

Trials of series.
Replaying them all before CS4 comes out on PC, currently at TS3.
Shit is so cash.
Hope we get another cool MC like Rean in the Calvard arc.

Some at home, some at work.
And Etrian and MeiQ being dungeon crawling, its not like the story matters that much.
Also playing the Yakuza series at home.

Rean isn't cool. He is just Martie Sue with white hair berserk mode, being a chosen one, having a harem and a fucking mecha. Way to much shit for one character.
Other than that cold steel arc is great

There are no good JRPGs.
