Digital Foundry: Xbox Series X is just too weak

According to DF, the The Xbox Series X|S specs are so bad they aren't even gonna bother doing an outright comparison to PC. PC games and PS5 will be the only games to be compared because PS5 is the only one with similar specs to a very high PC gaming machine.

According to DigitalFoundry recent reports, the PS5 can play 4k games at VERY HIGH and is ON PAR WITH PCs costing over $1500.

Based on tests with a 2080 Ti, it looks like a 2080 Super or RTX 3060 Ti would be required to match or exceed PlayStation 5's output.

First, you're lying OP. DF never said the SeX is weaker than the PS5. It's objectively, in every literal sense of this worse, better with the exception of the SSD.
Secondly, this is just one game. Other anos already proved you wrong with RayTracing on other games.
Thirdly, Vallhalla runs like shit on Nvidia. AMD fairs much better. A 6800 almost beats a 3090.

It's DirectX. The devs messed up their DirectX12 code. This is why it runs worse on the SeX. It's not surprising, many Vulkan and DX12 games on PC run like garbage with stutter out the ass and poor performance - Detroit, Quantum Break, Battlefield 1 to name a few. It's no the API's fault but it's probably proving difficult to code for. In Vallhalla's case it doesn't help that they got to toy around with PS5 dev kit much sooner. I'm betting the game served as a basis to learn the PS5 better and PC/SeX were a bit left out.

Yes. Teraflops is a performance metric of how much float points operations a GPU can do. Gaming uses more things like texture mapping, streaming, geometric transformations and more. So basically isn't worthy for gaming

Software. The hardware is legitemately better. You can check the specs yourself. It's purely down to software. Just like AMD's drivers were complete garbage and their OpenGL performance is still weaker than a low end Nvidia card.

I figure most of Series X not performing as well/better in most cases is due to development budget being split for that platform between X & S, vs. PS5 just having the same hardware for both its SKUs.
