I’m starting to get burnt out of GTA. I feel like if 6 does come out, i probably won’t acknowledge it especially now that all the OG’s have left. this sucks because I grew up with GTA.

18+ website
I’m 31 pal
No one over the age of 18 grew up with this zoomershit franchise.
What the actual fuck are you talking about?
Gta has been around for 23 years you actual zoomer
The worst part is that it will probably just be online-only at this rate
I was playing GTA in 1997, years before you were born.
Nah I still trust Sam.
Wow you played it before the shitty psx port? Damn.
Yes, on my Packard Bell PC.
Well i be a monkeys uncle. You sir deserve a veterans medal
I'm 21, my first time playing it was III on PC.
I went back and played 2 and it was pretty fun, I could barely get 1 to run and when I did, the text was ant-sized on my high res monitor, might need to run it on an emulator or find some sort of patch. As far as I've heard, 1 isn't worth playing when 2 exists anyway.
I’m the same age as you and I only started with the ps2 era. From then on I moved to the HD era and never cared for the 2d era and Chinatown wars. I don’t like the top down look it makes me sick
GTA hasn't been GTA since V came out. Time to move onto other games OP.
Gta 5 is still gta you monkey
Didn't really feel like it. For the most part GTA is about being a small-time crook who works as a mercenary for a variety of criminals, weirdos and otherwise corrupt individuals around the city and builds their way up to the top, but in V you spend half the game either working for yourself, in the position of an experienced criminal, or under the FBI.
What? Franklin is CJs story told again.
I wouldn't say it's as simple as that. Franklin is like the unwitting protege character to Michael who gets roped into the web of conspiracy and high-profile crime Michael and Trevor are involved in, but he's mostly a yes man who uses his money to pull himself out of the ghetto. CJ is like a super hero in comparison, stopping by his old home for a harmless funeral and finding himself pulled back into gang activity, then working from the ground up to free his brother from prison and eliminate the coalition of gang members, drug traffickers and corrupt cops that set him up, and in the process making a lot of new friends and investments.
I’m pretty sure Franklin is supposed to be you the player. He’s the most level headed and overall the least weird one of the whole game. He’s a literal blank canvas
Forgot to add that Dan added Franklin in the last stages of the game and only did so to even out the chaos. Franklin is kinda like Link but with a voice, a voice that is very much would be a representation of what the player would act in this crazy world. CJ is still that blank canvas but your playing his story, you don’t play Franklins story because he was intentionally made dull because he is YOU. You don’t live in Franklins world because you are Franklin
Well yeah Franklin, like the player, is more of a captive audience to the madness of Trevor and Michael's fucked up friendship and ends up having to mediate and pick a side. As far as his character goes he's like the rookie cop character who has to take charge suddenly while out on a ride-along that got totally out of hand. I'd say CJ, while not the brightest guy, is still on a straight path throughout his story and he makes all the tough calls with a definitive goal in mind.
I don’t like Franklin because he’s a millennial. CJ had a tougher life back in the 80s and early 90s
The game kind of makes fun of this aspect of his character by pointing out how watered down and uninspired being in a gang is in the '10s compared to the '90s. Guys like Sweet were totally dedicated to their gang and felt a lot of camaraderie through that lifestyle, but then there's Franklin, who hates his older gang members and is like "this shit is stupid, I need to get out of here" any time he has to tag along with Lamar.
I kinda feel the same way. CJ's story ends up being more interesting by virtue of being caught up in a massive gang and turf war that turns out to be more than he bargained for. Franklin feels like he just lives in the ghetto and has shitty friends with the gang aspect taking a back seat.
I’ve always found Franklin pretty lame. And I know Dan did that on purpose because they needed an excuse to add in a 3rd protagonist. At least with Luis in gay tony was fun and enjoyable to play as. It’s funny because luis literally came from a 3rd world country while Franklin probably grew up watching spongebob luis was out there getting molested by his teachers
I just don't see them even bothering with a single player mode after how much online has changed shit. there's just no reason for it, unless it somehow directly ties in with your online character's bank account at some point. maybe you meet each other at the end of the story and something happens where it all connects. i don't know. it seems like the longer online is the focus, there's less and less reason to bother with a separate mode of the game that nobody is interested in anymore.
They’ll figure something out, they still haven’t gone full EA just yet.
Franklin doesn’t really have much of a story tho, he’s just a repoman. He does labor like everyone else, even saying he never touched a gun before during the second mission with Lamar.
I don't really like Franklin either, but it's a funny contrast with the other two characters, having the younger guy as the grumpy old man of the group while the other two middle-aged guys are unhinged manchildren who are quick to anger. Luis is more fun to play as because while he was ambitious and also had his idiot gang member friends from the neighborhood to look after, he didn't start bitching at any point and instead tried to give them advice, and in general was a cooler guy than Franklin.
Yeah now that you mention it Luis is probably the most mature gta protagonist. Franklin comes off as a child and complains too much while Luis is giving life advice to his shitty friends. He’s still he murderer tho
