the purity of the classic Bungie games, until Reach at least but that wasn't solely them, is unique by today's standards. everything else tried to be more like Call of Duty, but Halo was and still is fairly unique, especially since it also blends elements of arena shooter with different weapon priorities and map spawns. plus if you weren't stuck on PC (and for CE, even if you were), Halo was just sorta everywhere in the 00's, so it was inevitable people have nostalgia for it.

then you get 343's games and everything gradually falls apart at rapid pace because they clearly had no idea what they actually wanted other than following CoD and other trends.

The first one was fun and I could split screen co-op with my younger brother. Those were good times. I haven't played any of the others so I can't comment further.

Do zoomers even have sleepovers anymore? No more 2L bottles of cream sodas, big bag of doritos. Going to the corner store to rent a movie maybe something from blockbuster, rent UFC play halo alllll night long.

A bit of everything is better when you’re 12, the fact that it’s a really solid series, and it brought LAN FPS gaming to the mainstream.

i won't try to argue that CE wasn't a fluke of design, and the campaign is a mess and a half, but it's still pretty fun despite that overall

Yes, I like Halo because it's a hodgepodge of mixed ideas that somehow just work. I like games like that.

Infinite has a hookshot which might speed movement up but you just know they're going to restrict it by making it on a 60 second cooldown or some shit.
