Thats just it though. Nintendo stole their engines and Argonaut had to fuck off and turn their Yoshi game into Croc. As one programmer put it in an interview, Miyamoto just came up to them at a convention and was like "yeah, we appreciate your work and dedication but we're going to vamoose now and you cant do shit about it"

Star Fox 1, 2 and 64 are all very solid games and the series could've ended with just these three games and I'd be happy. But I'm still curious to see what they'll do next when they inevitably try reviving it again.

Anyone who unironically thinks 2 is a good game (and especially if you agree that Command, the prototype SF2, is bad) is very clearly not a fan. That game was fucking awful. You don’t have to pretend it was some lost gem now that everyone can play it, buddy.
