That's a sickening thought, and lately we've been seeing that happen with films when they get rereleased, especially on certain streaming platforms.
It's just plain wrong and it should never be supported for any reason. A clear message needs to be sent that the completed works of other creators shouldn't be altered in that way or there'll be no end to it.
