They censored several jokes and cut some lines entirely because they were "uncomfortable" and "it was the right thing to do".
Don't shill this garbage here.
Andrew Peterson
It's better than no sam & max
Ethan Watson
No, it's not better than not existing. It's much worse than not existing and helps set a terrible precedent of politically motivated re-edits of older games.
Logan Thomas
you'd seriously rather let this franchise die? Fake fan
Ryder Evans
Shill thread, sage and ignore. Do not buy the remake, do not support leftoid censorship.
Angel White
>you don't want to see this beloved franchise get raped? >you're a fake fan!!! obvious shill is obvious
Andrew Phillips
On one hand, the jokes they cut mostly make sense and on a whole don't make up a whole lot of the game On the other, taking out funny jokes is bad and they conveniently "forgot" to mention they would after promising nothing had changed. Also, Bosco's new voice is bad.
Noah Hall
Absolutely. It's better to die with dignity than have a committee of political commissars slowly but surely sand down all the edges to conform to their beliefs. It's the worst possible trend that could ever happen to video games, especially since they have the power to replace the original games when releasing remasters. If you don't want every game "tweaked" and "retweaked" again to conform to whatever the current Californian social justice standards are then don't fucking buy this shit.
Christopher Sanders
>No, it's not better than not existing. Yes it is. I don't particularly like the changes either. But if that's the entire reason you come to Sam & Max threads and the only thing you want to do is scream and whine in self-righteous fury, that's your problem.
No it is not, since now the original games can no longer be bought. In fact it exactly is causing no sam&max.
Aiden Johnson
exactly, the only thing I heard was Bosco's voice actor changed which sucks but like c'mon.
Isaiah Miller
fuck these niggerloving cowards fucking hilarious that their get-rich quick scam isn't qorking
Andrew Price
>/threading your own post >reddit spacing go back
Jaxson Reyes
Changed: >Episode 1: reference to militant college students >Episode 2: references to skinbodies and drug dealers >Episode 3: Bosco's French alias >Episode 5: Bob's reference to goggles for special-needs people, Bosco saying foo, Bosco talking about underage girl avatars >Episode 6: Bosco saying foo again Removed: >Episode 6: Two conversations about Bosco being disguised as a woman
Ryan Sanchez
that's it? Like that sucks but c'mon
Eli Morgan
>that's it? No, it is not.
Zachary Gutierrez
the original games have not been on sale for literally years and the devs already stated that they're planning to relist them
Luke Mitchell
Really? What else? If you're referring to the Krypton thing, I didn't mention it on the chance it was a bug like the one Steam user said.
Thomas Young
No, cuz they removed the originals from Steam so you’re forced into the unfunny censored experience
Angel Price
i know you're here, deuptyspanks
Logan Baker
people really do be getting their panties in a twist over nothing
yes they can. buy physical releases OR buy the remake on gog which comes with the originals as a separate download
Ryan Long
Well they currently are not listed. And they were available for sale on Steam before this game removed the option of buying them.
James Fisher
then list them all?
Kayden Hall
>removing completely innocent jokes >lying about it >pretending it never mattered anyway
"before" in this case means literally several years before, long before any sort of remaster was even planned
Elijah Hill
They had a good run. We don't need toothless Sam & Max games until the end of time. Even if you justifiably boycott this developer so hard that the game bombs, Sam & Max will return in better hands eventually.
>Sam & Max will return in better hands eventually. Sadly I very much doubt that. Sam & Max has been dormant for over 10 years. It's either support them now or never see the series again.
Ryan Sanders
>Not by Nu-Telltale, a company called "Skunkape Games" got the rights.
Skunkape is a bunch of fired Telltale employees.
Connor Bennett
It's genuinely not. Sam and Max should only be irreverent.
Jayden Carter
>It's either support them now or never see the series again. Well rest in peace, cause I am sure not going to support them after their complete disservice to Bosco's VA and replacing him cause he wasn't black.
Cooper Watson
oh yikes didn't know that. Surprised that wasn't the first thing brought up. Deleting this thread in 3 minutes now that I'm on your side.
impressive, you came up with a 1.0001x more clever analogy than "would you eat a piece of shit if it were served to you at a fancy restaurant"
Charles Wright
no, i think i'll be annoyed at Zig Forums for getting fucking hysterical about it as they do literally everything and making it impossible to talk about anything else, that's YOUR fault
Dylan Cooper
I literally just said I changed my mind and support you guys now. What more do you want?
Sebastian Gray
The precedent this sets is bigger than Sam & Max. Do you really wanna live in an all digital future where games are retroactively given "small tweaks" to meet the current climate in a way that most people "probably won't even notice"? That's a sickening thought, and lately we've been seeing that happen with films when they get rereleased, especially on certain streaming platforms. It's just plain wrong and it should never be supported for any reason. A clear message needs to be sent that the completed works of other creators shouldn't be altered in that way or there'll be no end to it.
