Can somebody explain to me why Sonic games haven't had proper physics since 1994?

Sonic Adventure 1 had fun physics
After that they stopped trying
no idea, also forgot Lost World had a 3DS version, so was it any less shit than Wii U?
Fun physics but sadly a deviantart tier cringe story....*grooannnnnnnnnnn*
I've heard some say it was worse, others that it was better but still shit. The gyro controlled special stages in particular are apparently unplayable.
Sonic Adventure's story is so out of left field it's not even funny. How did we go from Mario-tier storytelling to a fucking RPG's worth of dialogue?
can anyone explain why sonic games didn't have proper gameplay until 1999?
>cringe story....*grooannnnnnnnnnn*
disgusting and retarded at the same time
stop posting retard
Post more these have soul
Games got too complicated for Yuji Naka to continue programming them by himself.
the adventure games had some clue how to program physics but it was thrown away once they went 3rd party. why? maybe because instead of making their own physics, they started borrowing other company's engine which they can't modify it to be like the megadrive games.
>Taxman remasters still somehow marooned on mobile
On a scale of yes to yes, how incompetent is Sega?
There is the one in Speed Highway with the extra life, but I somehow don't have that saved.
From my understanding, Sony was getting extremely asshurt about Heroes not being on PS2, and that fucked up development extremely. Shadow was doomed from the moment they choose to use the same engine, and you know the rest.
The physics engine in Adventure 1 is legitimately underrated. If they'd built the entire game around Sonic I'm pretty convinced it would just just as fondly remembered as Super Mario 64.
Just keep playing the old games if you want to jerk off to physics so much
>Just keep playing 64 and Sunshine if you want to jerk off to non-linear Mario games so much
Nintendo gave us Odyssey. Sega can give us a 3D Sonic game with physics. It's possible, if not plausible that the next game will be physics-driven. Fans have been pretty loud about it for the last few years.

It'll be a Spiderman 2 to Spiderman 2018 kind of thing, where they talk up the physics for months and then it comes out as the same casual mess it always will be.
you mean to tell me heroes wasn't meant to be released on ps2 but forced to? i guess it explains why ps2 version of both shadow and heroes ran like ass with glitches that were present in gamecube.
God this looks like so much fun. Fuck that gook nigger Iizuka
sucks they stopped making sonic games around this gameplay instead of what we got.
Pop quiz, hotshot. Name the last good Sonic game not named Sonic Mania.
uhhh...
Generations?
advance 2
yikes
Unleashed was the last decent one huh?
The Adventure games have their flaws, but at least they had some fun physics. Also, I miss the spin dash.
