Why did normies hate this game so much? It's not perfect but it's still fun and was way better than Fallout 4 and New Vegas.

I played it at launch and it was a very buggy mess that felt very half-baked. I also played entirely solo because none of my friends wanted it. Got to level 100 and then put the game down and never touched it again.
Started playing it again when a few of my friends got it during the last Steam sale and I really have to say they've improved it big time.
It's still a terrible Fallout game, but as far as a questing/adventuring/building coop game goes it's pretty comfy and fun. I'm genuinely looking forward to playing through it more with the boys.

I do dispute it. Fallout 4 wasn't online only with terrible net code. All other issues notwithstanding, this was fundamental to Fallout 76 actually functioning as a video game, and they fucked it up so bad that you can't even compare the two on fair grounds.

This: Fallout 4 is singleplayer but has basically a mmo-tier grind with harsher requirements. If it weren't for other players in the map that would sell good plans/legendaries for cheap, the grind in 76 would be awful.

Never had an issue with the net code. I've played 80 hours and the worse thing I've had is one random ctd. The wastelanders quest line was much more entertaining than anything in fallout 4. 76 even has skill checks unlike 4, making it closer to a rpg
