Because once upon a time games were good. Big studios realized that making good games only appealed to people who were interested in games. So they started "broadening the net" and making garbage like Cyberpunk that appeals to people who don't play games. It's absolutely absurd. In all the years of it being shilled, there has never been a single indication that the game would be good. They showed almost zero gameplay, and the tiny bits they did all looked horrible. So what did people find appealing about it? Oh, right:
