I miss mech games. I wish they'd return.
I've been playing MS Saga A New Dawn. It's okay but it's fucking hard
What's the first one you ever played?
Phantom Crash wasn't great but it got me into the whole thing.
I dont play mech games. I'm just here to bump your thread.
Chromehounds 2 when?
I didn't play Phantom Crash but I did play SLAI on the PS2, shit was pretty cool and I wish we got something similar now.
Mechwarrior 2 is still the best mech game.
Not counting Mech Commander (which only my Grandma's Computer could handle) Armored Core was my first introduction to mechs. Phantom Crash was neat- I played that a lot too. The music and pet computers were neat.
Yeah, I'm playing that one on totally legit hardware now because getting a real copy was too hard.
Why does this genre have to be so niche...? I had hopes when Daemon X Machina was shown off but the actual game was mediocre.
I've been having fun with MWO.
I like Titanfall.
What the fuck ever happened to that new Mech Warrior game? Did it come out?
I played the fifth Armored Core for a couple hours. I'm sad I didn't get to experience the multiplayer while it was still active.
The second one surprised me by being genuinely good, not gonnna lie.
>plenty of other games getting remakes/remasters
>Battletech/Mechwarrior series left in the dust and reliant on community-made resources and fan patches to be able to play the old stuff on modern systems
I'd sure like Mechwarrior 2 and mechassault with a fresh coat of paint.
MS Saga isn't hard.
I forgot it's name. It was a Kinect game I played at a friend's house, you were in first person and had to do everything manually which was shit because it would be tedious under normal circumstances let alone with the fucking Kinect. It was a neat idea though
it's was ok
Wasn't that a Steel Battalion game or something?
That franchise is a legal minefield.
Probably the main reason why you don't see much stuff for it.
Epic store exclusive and coming to Steam within the month.
Oh and it sucks.
youtube.com
i want BF2142 FUCK
Looks like it. I really liked the concept just couldn't get behind the execution
Sounds like Steel Battalion. The shit one.
Metal Warriors on the SNES
EA shutdown the bf2 and bf2142 revival project
Tell that when you meet 1 Tallgeese + 4 Leos. I think MS Saga is one of the few games where random battles need some sort of strategic thinking, you can't just bulldoze everyone. The formation above is harder than the final boss.
Still, all that "strategic thinking" boils down to "how do I get rid of those fucking shield zakus before the other guys rape me", which makes even random battles a drag. Took me at least 45 hours to finish the game because of that.
>Making a mech game using nothing but autist arm-swinging and voice commands
>Previous game had a controller with dozens of buttons and perma-death if you didn't eject.
The sad thing is, they did it better the first time.
>Yeah, I'm playing that one on totally legit hardware now because getting a real copy was too hard.
Lmao. I got an unopened copy of SLAI back in September for $35, man. Where the fuck were you looking?
Does the series get better? I'm playing the first one atm, and it's not great.
Armored Core is a really good normalfag filter.
It only gets "playable" on Nexus, one of the PS2 games. It's the first one where you can control the camera with the right analog. Until then, it's shoulder button fest for you.
I still have that controller and game. It's really difficult to play it these days considering the fov of the game. I've seen the controller has been adapted to play modern mech games though I never did it, it looks fun.
Virtua On at the arcade, Custom Robo for an actual console game
>Try to open with a boost attack to kill the problem suit as soon as the fight starts
>Enemy sniper just shoots me out of it
>At least one party member is now dead, party wipe is very likely
And that's a very common scenario
The dungeons are also stupid fucking long. Literally corners into corners into miles long straight hallways with random encounters all through them
hows the mechcommander mod for mw5
The first game is the best one.
this game is currently in closed beta testing
its like a better HAWKEN
Any of you know some mech games similar to Mechcommander?
Front Mission.
