How do you feel about the line up?
How do you feel about the line up?
Damn this year sucked
All of these games were disappointments. Except GoT maybe, people tell me that's good but I haven't played it.
where the fuck is age of calamity?

Best year in gaming history
>Damn this year sucked
It really does. Here's hoping that next year FromSoftware delivers another masterpiece with Elden Ring.
FF7R, TLoU2 and GoT don't deserve it. Swap them with Ori, Half-Life Alyx and P5R and it's spot on.
It couldn't even deliver on its key selling point of being a true BotW prequel.
Strange, normally they have five or six candidates. Does anyone know why this year only has Animal Crossing and The Last of Us?
>FF7R, TLoU2 and GoT don't deserve it
>conveniently leaves out New Horizon, which also blatantly doesn't deserve it as well
Needs Dota Underlords.
Animal Crossing is put on their because the last 2 years Nintendo had jack shit in the GOTY category and Nintendies cried. It's literally just to shut them up, same thing with TLOU2 and FF7R.
3 of the games are exclusives so only a fraction of the market actually played the games. its retarded and makes no sense that these would be voted GOTY
TLOU2 is there for brownie points, Animal Crossing for the same reason but nintendo fans.
>P5R
neck yourself
Probably the worst lineup since Dragon Age Inquisition won
GoT is fucking kino.
out of all of those games, FF7 and Ghost are the only ones I found enjoyable
But Smash Ultimate was in 2019's GOTY, since it was after the cut-off point for 2018
Oh man, I forgot that actually happened. That was another weak year.
sony domination making this board seethe once again
Game of thrones?
considering you didn't like any of the others you will probably hate it too.
And that didn't count because it was an obligation due to getting the Joker reveal the year before.
I like Doom Eternal but it was still disappointing.
I never played not know much about Ghost, but of the others:
>Animal Crossing released at the perfect time this year so kind of had a cultural impact, but the game itself was way too bare bones on release, and is still missing content from the previous version
>Doom Eternal is held back by the sheer fact that it too is not as good as past Doom games
>FF7R has some fun combat and nice visuals, but holy fuck the story is bad and there is some awful padding to drag out the playtime as the amount of content is pitiful for a JRPG
>Hades actually is a good game, though maybe too casual for the hardcore roguelike/roguelite players. It's probably the best game here, which is kind of sad as it no doubt had the smallest budget
>TLOU2 is... well, what hasn't been said at this point? The combat is actually fine, but it goes completely against the horrible narrative it is peddling. And as it's the story they seem to be want to be judged on, that's what it will get judged on.
I can only assume Ghost will have to be the winner, as other than Indie game Hades the four other AAA games sure as fuck don't deserve it.
Played them all to completion except tLoU2 and none of them deserve GoTY, at least Ghost of Tsushima captures the leans into it's cinematic appeal for it's gameplay instead of trying to play both sides. GoTY should have been Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It should have at least been nominated over AC or Hades
Place your bets on next years lineup, we got one for elden ring, cyberpunk is almost a given at this point.
I love Hades, that would be my pick, but even then, it feels I only pick it because nothing truly great came out this year (or at least I didn't play it)
What do you think the % played each game has among the swine that post on Zig Forums? Honestly I doubt even 1% of posters have even touched half of these games.
Gee, I wonder why, it's not like there were any external factors that could have harmed a game's production.
