The good points:
- actually interesting and "difficult" choices. There is actually no best path, so just be yourself.
- the story is fun and actually engaging
- you get attached to some of the characters
- music is really good, visuals are a bit dated but the 2D artwork is really nice.
- writing and dialogue is alright and sometimes even funny
The bad points:
- bland voice acting
- there is about 4 different models for NPCs, so get ready to see the same faces a lot
- combat is laughably repetitive
- ... which wouldn't be so bad if one area of the game wasn't crawling with bad, underleveled monsters that you can kill in one hit
- sidequests are more like a grind than actually developing the story
- act III and act IV feel more like a really, really long stretch to artificially extend the game
All in all, a fun experience but dated gameplay hinders replayability.
Seems most of the bad things were corrected in Assassins of Kings, though, so you might want to just power through it to play the better sequel
