>there's a hunger system

I don't think there are any games apart from like Minecraft that have pulled off having a hunger system in a fun way. It's just annoying having to constantly stockpile food. Obviously, some games benefit from it if it's about cruel survival like Kenshi, but even in that game it gets tedious looking for food.

you can play without that

I feel like skyrim is the only game that would benefit from such a system.

Ignoring the bad bait, I thought We Happy Few did the survival meters decently. Rather than having them directly kill you, they just lead to debuffs and buffs depending on how full they are. I found that to be a good implementation of survival systems.
