Im ejoying the game but now I can't progress a mission because the tank fell trough the ground.

A controller is superior to a flight stick for these kind of games. You don't need the precision of a flightstick and you'll often be making quick movements which are far faster and easier on a controller. Playing with a HOTAS in VR is pretty fun though.

What precision? I would have thought they were pretty identical. I figure if anything the advantage of a hotas is the throttle since you don’t need to apply constant pressure to maintain the same power.

Are you on the beta build patch or public? I think that may be a spawn in bug that was patched.

These games don't really need precise throttle controls, you either accelerate or break, there really isn't a moment where you want to accelerate at 50% or break at 15%, everything has been fine tuned for playing with a controller

Reminder that the whole crew survived the nuke at the end. If you beat the last mission on mercenary, there is extra dialogue during the credits that confirms they are alive.

Watched some gameplay and I'm actually surprised, In cases like this, the game ends up shit because people think they can just copy a game and say it's "inspired by x" and end up with a good game when they don't have the actual talent that made the orginal great.
It steel feels like a knockoff, but not a bad one and AC7 wasn't enough to satisfy me, might give it a go.

Frogfoot is your friend. I like to pack 2 MLAGs and a Heavy Gunpod but it's up to you.

bring the SK.25U or whatever it's called, load it up completely with MLAGs, you fire like 6 or 8 of them at a time and just obliterate anything on the ground also it brings prez along and she's cute

Just get the missile that locks onto ground targets (on multiple hardpoints if possible), spam that, GG.
On a fast enough plane you can straight up ignore all airborne opposition.

That's the thing, a gamepad thumbstick has very little precision. A decent flight stick such as pic related can make incredibly precise moves because large movements of the stick translate to very small angle changes. Games like this and Ace Combat don't really need those kind of precise actions. You're throwing your aircraft around from one direction to another very quickly, which can be performed much more quickly with a gamepad.

I wasn't really referring to the throttle but similarly a decent throttle can make incredibly small and precise changes. Again these aren't relevant for games like this.

Don't get me wrong, it's an absolute blast to play with a flight stick but I feel it's worth telling people that a controller is more appropriate when they ask if they need a flight stick for this kind of game.
