Game has really been in development for 5 years with small amount of people, only went into full team production when witcher dlc was finished.

they had to rebuild the game from scratch after 2018. if you notice the 2018 game looks remarkably different to what they're releasing this year, it looks rough and filled with bugs. V in 2018 looks different from the V now, current V looks like a Witcher 2 model, whereas 2018 V looked like an evolution of the Witcher 3 models.

Before they were fucking around with pre-production, planning, creating believable world, writing story and characters.

The constraints of older hardware led to some of the greatest games ever made because there was only so much room to fit the game on an old cartridge. This is why there are so few modern masterpieces. It's sad when you can go back and play Super Mario Bros. 3 and it's still better than anything you've played in the last decade.
