I still don't understand why they made the crestfallen warrior black. Everything else can be explained away by nu-graphics ruining the faces, atmosphere, and retards messing with designs and music, but the race of an entire character? Come the fuck on. How do you mess that up, without that being on purpose?

This board is so racist and stupid sometimes that it's almost unbelievable.

As someone who never played the origins of the FromSoftware formula, I think this was an astonishing achievement in updating the dated graphics/music/designs that simply didn't age very well while still faithfully showing the bones of what would eventually become the Souls series.

By all accounts the game mechanics have been faithfully represented, for better or worse, to do as much justice to From's original creation while welcoming in a whole new generation to something they otherwise would have never played or even knew existed.

Fundamentally the game plays exactly the same and the pvp/online community has been reinvigorated, but some of the characters don't look the same as they did in an 11 year old PS3 game? No fucking shit, why would they?

Giant leechmonsters and plague babies are fine, but one fairly insignificant character is a different race than he was originally has this board foaming at the mouth. The world has been modernized and is the best looking Souls game to date, and everything janky and frustrating about the game is what the ported over untouched from the original. Just be happy it exists, if you ever even get to play it.

Tell me, why did they change his race? Why? They went to such lengths to attempt (and fail) to capture the essence of the original game, yet the could not get such a simple detail correct? Coupled with several other changes, such as the warriors in the intro cutscene, and the character creator and its "body types" (even when the original game had items linked to the sexes), its blatantly obvious that they have an agenda that they are forcing into this game. I am not one to say these things whatsoever, but its so painful to see a classic butchered with agendas like this. I simply cannot enjoy this game in good faith knowing these changes exist.
Don't get me started on the rest of the stupid fucking "modernizations" they made to this game.

"Fighting" Maiden Astrea is one of the most kino moments in the history of video games. I can imagine how soulless it must be in the remake

This has to be bait. They changed his race because they wanted too, and that's all there is to it. Diversity is fine. He's literally the only person of colour in the game, aside from maybe the one Japanese character.

And relax with the agenda horseshit already. The character creator is so broad that what you create could barely even be considered a human if you want. The broadened the scope of the game where they could to make it a bit more accessible to modern players, and left virtually everything else unchanged.

You clearly haven't even played it or you'd know that it's a gigantic, glorious, silky smooth rebuild of a classic. You wouldn't even have these pathetic criticisms if you saw how irreverent they are in the scope of the game while playing, instead of fuming over pictures and clips.
