How should i prepare for SMT:V? is there a flowchart for this franchise?

Pretty much any of them can be played standalone with a few exceptions. 4 apocolypse after 4, digital devil saga 1 then 2 and then the raidou game then it's sequel. Other than that what you start with just depends what you like.
Strange Journey for a classic dungeon crawling jrpg with a good story and decent difficulty
SMT 4 is a good entry point as it is one of the easier games outside of the first major boss that will wreck you unless you learn the game.
Persona 3/4/5 for a life sim mixed with dungeon crawler any of them are fine to start with but the newer ones will have more QoL features than the older ones.
Persona 1/2 are also good games but are less for beginners due to their outdated play style but they have some of the best stories out of SMT franchise.
Finally digital devil saga is another good entry point due to it having a more simplified system with you not having to collect and fuse demons and it has a good albeit weird story.
>is there a flowchart for this franchise?
Sure, but if you don't have enough time for pic related I'd suggest:
Nocturne > Strange Journey > SMTIV > SMTIVA
Strange Journey's combat is a tad clunky, but the game is still fantastic so bear with it.
If you have extra time then definitely play Devil Survivor (my second favorite game after SMTIV), and if you desire more Nocturne then play Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2.
thanks for the detailed response.
so there's no like continuity or dependencies between the games outside of the sequels as you mentioned?
yeah the series goes 1->2->3->4 then 5
Hope this helps :)
excellent, thank you
You shouldn't play this garbage at all.
What's her gender?
It's complicated, overall it is basically happening within the same multiverse but outside of games I mentioned they don't directly affect each other although there are cameos every now and then
How the hell is Catherine related to SMT?
Chronological release order is the /smtg/ approved way to tackle it.
IF for some reason you're too much of a spoiled zoomer, then start with III or IV and then come back, share your thoughts, and receive the next recommendation.
Persona 1 doesn't have a good story you fucking larper
you talk with the protag of catherine at a bar in persona 3, all same universe
It isn't. It's a meme chart from reddit.
>spoiled zoomer
it's probably more a time crunch/privilege thing than anything
Oh, I expected something cool like Catherine is Lilith or some shit.
Thats mildly disappointing.
A cameo is not an implication of anything. By that logic Metroid games take place in the same world as Mario games.
idk google a better answer then
That's why it's not connected to any titles by a line, yes.
It's still not part of MegaTen, just like Metroid and Zelda aren't part of Mario games.
Correct
Indeed, which is why it shouldn't be on a franchise flowchart of MegaTen, which is my point.
it's be silly to not include it on a chart like that one somewhere because of how many similar elements it shares with other megaten games. if the point is to introduce people to their games
Then remove it? Or tell the creator to remove it?
Not sure why you're talking to me
>Strange Journey
Original or redux?
>if the point is to introduce people to their games
It isn't. It's a headcannon trash chart from reddit that people push for upvotes. There is no need for a flowchart and SMT isn't a hard series to get into.
Because you are or were denying my point. Do you not understand most basic principles of human interaction?
Original
Either works. SJR has different sprites (opinions differ), a new dungeon, and 3 additional endings. Also has optional things that make some things a bit easier.
And it has additional tracks that are fucking great.

Where?
Play Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei and then whatever
>how should i prepare for SMT:V?
By reading

>yaoi
>crossdressing
>males_only
until you've developed the prerequisite taste for SMT V.
You forgot the most important.
You probably played only only localized version from 90s .
