A+ writing, Blizz.
THE PATH IS DOGSHIT
APOLOGIZE
>don't have a raid team for today
>devoted to teachings of heaven for eons
>one beardy-boy died in a tragic way
>immediately flips and claims the teachings are wrong
>eggs beardy-boy into taking revenge for some reason
what the fuck is her problem?
is it because she's FtM?
WoW's writing has been trash since the beginning. Went to hell in tbc and it never recovered
Can you explain why? You fags love to say shit like this and never back it up or just meme.
Bfa broke records too and it failed to retain any players past the first few months the same will happen with Shadowlands.
cope
>first bit of interesting plot in years with Bastion, Devos, Uther and the Forsworn
>first decent female character in literally forever
>you kill her in the first dungeon
>Uther immediately pussies out and pretends he knew they were bad all along
>nothing is expanded upon again
why do they always fucking do this
Why is everything written by Reddit now?
Replacement theory and imposter syndrome, kills every company it touches, especially when their work is intangible.
dilate
>Good job everyone, we saved the world from the army of the undead at naxxramas
>oh no, now illidan is amassing an army to come back through the portal?
>Wait, now the badder blood elves are doing some shit?
>Wait... Now kil'jaeden is literally sticking his dick into our world?
>Wait, the army of the dead is back AGAIN?
I stopped playing right before the argent tournament and even when I came back here and there the power crew was just plain retarded. Every time the world was threatened they just made it even more insane and reality threatening instead of making it more interesting.
>Went to hell in tbc
Vanilla.
How would you keep the stakes high and introduce new content? Not defending Blizzards constant rape of Warcraft lore, just curious how to do it otherwise
At least vanilla felt like a dnd campaign and not a marvel movie whever every other thing threatens all life as we know it and is someone else's story.
>Go kill these bandits in the farm country
>Some cultists took over a water temple
>Go to Vietnam for a tour of duty, report back when you're level 45
>Hey, the highlands have some troll problems, also there's an avatar of an earth goddess in a shitty cave, go kill her and take her hat
>Oh fuck, there's some undead at fnogschwarrz magic school. They're doing bad shit
>Zombies yo
>Oh, glad you're back, turns out our king was tricked by a dragon
>That volcano is really mad too and it's coughing up dragons
>Well, bugs are now invading and WTF IS THAT THING WHY CAN I HEAR IT IN MY SOUL OH GOD.
>Oh hey, zombies again
Keep the stories about smaller things heroes can solve. Not everything has to be an existential threat, save that for the last raid of the expack.
But wow has already been about existential threats since warcraft.
>group of friends shit on bfa
>we all agree not to play shadowlands as the beta looks more and more disjointed and fills up with awful design decisions or fails to finish content in time
>they all buy the game at launch anyways
>"user you should join us it's actually a lot of fun! there's less daily chores and the dungeons are cool!"
I don't want to buy it at all and now that I missed the initial launch week I feel even less desire to play. I'm mostly a little sad that so many of them fell for the launch hype meme again.
is this actually how non wow players feel all the time? it's like watching an addict risk their lives on an overdose.
>nothing is expanded upon again
>why do they always fucking do this
Because they're shit writers working for a shit company. Blizz clearly doesn't even keep notes on gameplay changes, you think they give a fuck what the writers are doing?
It was, but it wasn't every raid. Wrath was terrible about it.
>Naxx can unlease armies worldwide!
>Oh good, you stopped it
>The magic dragon can stop all magic worldwide!
>Oh good, you stopped it
>There's ANOTHER OLD ONE in that mountain that wants to corrupt and consume all life!
>Oh good you stopped it.
>The celestials can just nuke azeroth from orbit!
>Oh good, you stopped it.
>The argent dawn is having a tourna6!
>This was actually fine, just executed like shit
>Oh shit, the lich king is tearing up to make his final attack on all of humanity!
>Actually he was a pseudogoodguy and you're the secret asshole formkilling him, time for a new lich king we can trust
>Oh good, you stopped it.
>officers of my last private server wow guild talking about going to shadowlands
>this one dude, 36
>"yeah I don't support Blizzard or their practices and won't do it again"
>IMMEDIATELY AFTER
>talks about how he got the boost from buying Shadowlands and the group of people he's playing with
Normalfags have zero self-awareness.
Why do people even bother? If you didn't play the game before LFG and ilvl just accept that you missed out.
FFXI had the best approach to expansions in an MMO
>first expansion is a continuation of the ranked missions, areas that were added, were added to prexisting regions, or around them
>second expansion does more of the latter, except the storyline is totally optional but so full of lore than you can play it alongside the first expansion for supplemental lore
>third expansion is a totally separate continent, with it's own problems going on but still wholly related to the game's world. due to the level cap not changing, it meant players were now given the freedom to pursue different endgames
>armor was never successive, you would be level capped and sometimes still have a lv40 ring because it was so good
yeah if your circle ever hits a point of "wow is shit and we should just stop playing!" then literally 100% of the people involved don't mean it and will just play again in the future
there's no way to make blizzard learn a lesson at this point, people will just hand them money until the rest of the world economy folds.
>implying
classic is overrated
>unironically expecting ANYTHING after Warlords of Draenor
If you still have hopes for the lore or the writing of Warcraft after WoD, the only person to blame is you.
Activision Blizzard's revenue remains enormous despite this.
15 years ago it wasn't, it was a completely different critter compared to the other MMO offerings. Problem is that all of the community and wonder is gone from the game.
yeah it's looking like a repeat of BfA
people buy the box, play to max level, are bored shitless by the utterly substanceless endgame and stop playing
that's exactly what it is, launch hype. they know they don't enjoy the game anymore, they know blizzard's design gets worse with every passing year, but oh man there's a new PRODUCT coming out and all my friends are getting it, better CONSOOM. maybe this time i'll finally relive my vanilla/tbc/wotlk glory days when I raided with a group of friends, maybe this is the time guys.
it's not. everyone treats the game like a chore, because it is one. the dropoff after month 1 will be absolutely massive, just like last time.
No it's not
It is though, thanks to all the guides and shit the sense of exploration is gone. Thanks to lfg and left there's no need to bother getting into a decent guild either.
cute pic
A lot of retard cope and excuses to explain why wow is still king itt. Sorry but saying "REEEE I DON'T LIKE BLIZZARD BAD U JUST CONSOOM ANYTHING" is not a sensible argument and you are in fact a fucking retard.
