that's how it works, unlike novideo AMD actually lets their partners board makers make money instead of cucking them with "founders" editions

OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The problem is that all aib cards are more expensive than reference, at least so far.
cope. good luck finding any of these cards and good luck finding them for MSRP.
lolwtf how is that cope
nigga amd has always done this
Why would anyone even want a reference card compared to a good AIB card?
because most are wildly priced above MSRP and the reference design is actually good.
thats how reference cards work you retard
nvidia is the only one who screws over aib partners with founders editions
Better card has better components so costs a bit more, the cost is justified
They haven't launched budget models yet. I see no point in it too. Why should they sell cheaper models when they can sell more expensive ones. It will be like that untill stock will get fixed(atleast a year from now)
but they don't
they're literally more expensive for no reason
>$150+ over MSRP is justified. you are shilling.
>They haven't launched budget models yet.
They did, it's called getting a used RX 580.
>bitch about nvidia for no reason
>it's ok for AMD to cuck the consumer
he does it for free.
No, the card manufacturers get the reference sheet and have to build a card to those specifications at a minimum, they can put better quality chips on the card or better VRM or whatever, it's why some cards have different PSU recommendations, different prices, sizes, etc
>bait everyone with cheap limited reference cards
>AIB cards end up more expensive than Nvidia's
Good to see AMD turn in to bigger jews than nvidia as soon as they can compete again
I'm surpirsed they haven't launched some special turbo extra version for 300% MSRP that has some CEO signed fans or whatnot. It's bascally free money now. I assume it's some contract bullshit
>>AIB cards end up more expensive than Nvidia's
where are the prices?
They can't even really compete with nvidia yet on the GPU market. They got way too cocky with their CPU line finally beating Intel, and IMO overplayed their hand.
You can be cocky with your pricing when you own 90% of the market, but not when it's barely 30%. AMD also has next to offering in the midline range to compete with Nvidia. The only reason they are still selling any cards is because of fucked up logistics meaning nobody could actually get a new Nvidia card.
go to newegg. almost all of them are $150 above MSRP. some 6800 aib cards end up costing $80 more than a 6800xt like this one. anyone saying these prices are justified are shills.
>ribbit
Go back
So far, the reference models are the only ones that fit in my case.
They're so overpriced because the supply can't meet with demand right now, not because they're AIB cards
Because reference/FE prices are marketing prices to get you interested. They budget to sell a set number of base price cards then let AIB partners rape you after
bullshit. the asus tuf rtx 3080 oc is $50 over msrp meanwhile the asus tuf rx 6800xt is $160 over MSRP, nice try frank azor
Well there goes any hope of getting one for MSRP. With no reference card to compare the AIB prices to they can charge whatever the fuck they want.
I'm so fucking tired that i will try to explain to all retards what AIB does an why are they more expencive now
Imagine you get a nice car engine, you can put it into
>Honda Civic frame
>lamborghini aventador frame
Both will drive almost as fast with the same engine but even with higher costs you can sell lambo for way more just because it has better frame. They have limited supply of engines. Guess witch one is more profitable
This is the most brainlet proof analogy i can come up with
Actually the reference AMD and Nvidia cards use the best binned chips and highest quality components, AIBs get second pickings.
Same, it's fucking annoying. If the shorter cards can cool the components just fine why do AIBs keep making these ridiculously long coolers that a large portion of people won't be able to fit in their case?
can i have a food analogy instead pls
I'm not dobson
no shit higher quality parts cost more, however the prices are simply absurd and inflated. nearly all of the 3rd party reviewers agree. the same coolers, fans, etc that are on nvidia's cards cost way more for amd's for example the gigabyte gaming oc and asus tuf models.
How many did they even produce. It couldn't have been more than a few thousand worldwide.
The AIB's will be close to impossible to get till mid 2021.
I ended up putting a 3080 on preorder as the 6800xt is just impossible to get. However i'll likely have to wait to Jan next year for the 3080TI. The 10GB Vram on the 3080 is terrible.
You missed my point brainlet. Think for yourself for once instead of paroting ecelebs.
as a company you can
>earn more
>earn less
Which one do you chose?
They don't have to worry about moving stock. If scalpers can sell it for 1000% MSRP why can't they. They just can't do it as directly because they have long term reputation unlike scalpers.
The problem on both Nvidia's & AMD's sides is that all models are currently extremely overpriced. What's worse is that the average consumer is still gobbling these up. Everything is sold out and any card that pops up in a webshop is instantly bought. 3080s are being sold for 1200 euro, and being sold as hotcakes.
