It literally does though. It hasn't been out long enough for people to get to quite the same level as a stick, since the pros have used a stick for literally decades of their lives, and the hitbox has been only popular for like 2 years, but it's an objective improvement. You can do a lot of shit with a hitbox that you can't do with a stick, and even the same shit can be done faster.
I'm talking facts here. It'll take a while before people get as good with it, but it absolutely is an objectively superior option once you are good with it.

Pressing multiple directions at the same time is a fucking huge deal, especially for charge characters. General movements can literally be done in one frame as well. It's a big advantage. That video explains it pretty well.
Stick can't do anything the hitbox can't also do, but there are several things the hitbox can do that the stick can't.
