Just looked into FFXIV. Isn't this game a bit too easy since they do big glowing circles to show you where the attack is going to hit? Like what's the point of that, obviously you just walk away from the circle.
Just looked into FFXIV...

the amount of people who cannot just walk away from the circle is staggering
we already know you play the game op
When you start doing real content it takes the floor indicators away. Think of them like training wheels.
>obviously you just walk away from the circle.
Unfortunately that's too much to ask from the average player.
The game is a social experience. Encounter design geared around avoiding glowing circles detracts from the core gameplay loop.
In normal mode dungeons and raids, yes. It's quite easy but think of it as a training mode to prepare yourself for extreme raids.
yes the normal difficulty content is designed so players who just want to experience the story can get through the game without too much trouble.
Burmecians when?
>without too much trouble.
that's being generous. it's more like it's designed for people with 1 brain cell left.
>without too much trouble
And yet they still get filtered by instanced story fights.
It’s aimed towards the casual single player player base
Just do your weekly tomes, farm glamour and enjoy the “leveling experience”
Just walk away bro
fuck you
you don't pay my sub
As much as I would want them, never. Their body structure would be way too much of a hassle for development, if anything Ivalice moogles have a better chance since their body structure is more human.
What's going on here?
peak performance
I aspire to be like that someday. Until then, the healers will just need to adjust.
What glowing circles?
There's literally a circle in the thumbnail of that video.
>a minute in and the entire floor covered with multiple glowing circles and becomes a glowing circle itself
>"What glowing circles?"
Black Mage is the big brain class that heavily rewards fight memorisation and optimal positioning. The short version is that you need to stand perfectly still for a couple seconds to cast a spell, and also gain a boost in effectiveness from remaining in a stationary circle. Knowing where to place your circle in advance for a fight so that you have to move as little as possible is key for optimal play.
Anyone got a link to the extreme that plays in E12S?
That is intriguing since in most FF games Black Mage is the braindead "free damage" class.
It has to show you because the visual effects are a horrendous clusterfuck where you can't see anything
In this game, that role is filled by Samurai. And I love it
Can I play this game single player and have fun?
Thats samurai in this game since all you fucking do is just fill colored shit and quickdraw till you need to realign.
biggest turn off about this game is the metric fuckton of story quests. they say it's amazing in heavensward and shadowbringers but holy shit i can't even bring myself to get halfway through ARR. it's just fucking boring but if you skip it you feel like you're missing out.
maybe if i had a gf or something to start fresh with i'd be more motivated, but that's never gonna happen.
Ask again when you leave hall of the novice and completed at least 2 expansions.
You don't have a choice. Whether you like it or not, you'll be playing single player for most story content in between dungeons (4 players) and trials (8 players). You queue up for those and get matched into a party for that specific instance and then everyone goes their own way again. Nobody talks or anything and most main story dungeons and trials have been done hundreds of times by most players, so 9 times out of 10 you'll enjoy a perfectly smooth and silent run as if you were playing with bots, before going back into the single player stuff.
