Start from the start, as a plus you can sneak in Project Snowblind after IW
play the first one. Skip invisible war since it sucks. Play Human Revolution until you finish China, then drop the game since its boring.
Deus Ex if you're a real gamer
Human Revolution if you're a zoomer or plebeian
Play them in release order.
the first one is a classic but here are some warnings, it was made before the normal control conventions, so looking down a sniper scope requires a key press and not a mouse-click
>so looking down a sniper scope requires a key press and not a mouse-click
>mouse clicks are not keys
gameplay wise the first Deus ex is a spiritual sequel to system shock 2, so play that first if you haven't
Is Jensen's sequel as bad as people say it was?
It seemed to look cool from the trailers.
Go in release order. They're all solid.
I even like invisible war even if it was gimped by consoles.
OG>IW>HR>MD but be prepared for bumpy ride in Invisible War.
It's a bit short, biut good. Veddit was just reeing about the MTX Square added at the last minute.
>mouse clicks are not keys
They aren't.
there is a dedicated scope button, just check all the key bindings before playing so your muscle memory doesn't betray you
I'm replaying it right now. It's very good but it suffers from the nu-Immersive Sim issue where stealth is the "correct" way of playing which is the opposite of the point of I-Sims
>Skip invisible war since it sucks.
Pretty sick of this meme. How about this - instead, try IW and see if you can stomach the ugly visuals and pig disgusting radial UI. If you can, play it as well.
HR then MD. Don't bother with the rest if you didn't grow up playing old games. I grew up playing Tech War and shit like that and I still can't go back and play the original. Fuck old games and their shit mechanics.
plot-wise is should I really skip invisible war cause it's that bad?
>HR then MD. Don't bother with the rest if you didn't grow up playing old games
it's not even considered cannon it's that bad
The only issue with IW is the loading screens minimising the game. Once you fix that issue, it's a perfectly serviceable game.
Just play the original.. The first game is the only objectively good game, the rest are potentially good depending on your taste.
All in release order.
First is great
second is okay, has its moments, universal ammo and fuck ton loading screens though
third is pretty great too, forces you to kill the bosses though and had to be kind of fixed in the rerelease
4th is pretty good too though you only ever get to hang around one hub area and it's filled with annoying AUG LIVES MATTER/ANONYMOOOSE shit. its not politically motivated surprisingly, just a shitty attempt at being current. Also it just ends out of nowhere and the next part was killed in favor of the shitty avengers game. Otherwise it's pretty good.
>cannon
canon
And you're talking shite. The only canon games are the DE1 and IW. The other games are basically fan-fic. No one from the original team worked on the new ones.
this desu
Start with Deux Ex
If you have low standards for sequels then play Invisible War
Now if Gunther Hermann and Anna Navarre made you incredibly horny and gave you an insatiable fetish for cyborgs, and you want a game that's nothing but cyborgs and how the future is cyborgs, you can play Human Revolution and Mankind Divided.
>535418050
>4th one is pretty good
I genuinely don't remember the story. Did DLC finish its arc or something because I distinctly remember it ending on a cliffhanger and nothing actually happening in the game.
Finding Adam 1 was cool though
Maybe you should try getting a job.
>Deux Ex
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
Deus Ex 1.
Play all of them. Yes, play Invisible War. Don't fall for the memes. People shit on this series more than it deserves.
>Maybe you should try getting a job.
ok ill get a second one and drop my hobbies thank you user!
That’s terror.
Invisible War is the last game in the timeline, so you can skip it. Its endings give off "definitive" ends for the Deus Ex universe: fuck off to space, Dark Ages for real this time, everyone lives in city-skyscrapers where you're forever controlled by the Illuminatie, everyone lives where you're forever controlled by JC-Helios.
play original or with gmdxmod.com
playing the rest of the series is optional. the original is its own beast entirely and no game nor sequel can compare
[screams]
It's not as bad, but big e-celebs (big as in, 700 pounds big) loved to shit on it. It has a cliffhanger heavy ending and no sequel in the works, but the game itself is solid.
It's arguably just the ending of DE1: 2 considering it assumes some amalgamation of the first games endings then just asks you to make the choice again. The series just as effectively ends with 1 depending on your choice.
spotted the laputan machine
Worth playing, but kind of drops the ball in the boss fights and ending. Other than that it tries its best to carry on the spirit of the first game to the best of its ability.
This, but stop MD after that tech ghetto sequence and just watch the rest on youtube.
>i highly recommend for first timers too
wrong, modfags need to be shot
Human Revolution -> Mankind Divided -> The Original. HR&MD should be very compatible for modern tastes, if you love those games play the original too. With this order you get the story in chronological order and you're saving possibly the best for last while having the lowest barrier for entry.
It good
I've always wondered why in games where you're given choices, you couldn't just fuck off then and there. Sure in IW they said that Liberty was surrounded and you can't go takeoff or snatch a boat, but still. I appreciated how HR gave you the choie to just blow yourself up.
Does this actually look fun to anyone who has never played it before? LMAO. The newer ones have way better atmosphere and gameplay by modern standards. And atmosphere is half the game. Too old to be fun without nostalgia goggles--like those old ass Thief games. At least Deus Ex got modern games that didn't suck ass. youtube.com
I played Mankind Divided on release and genuinely remember fucking nothing bar one crate stacking sequence. That game is not good. Play 1 and Human Revolution, then maybe Invisible War if you're feeling adventurous. The first game is the only unquestionably good game.
Don't forget to play the Criminal Past DLC for MD.
>not going with the patrician omar ending
Your proteins are not worth resequencing.
Remind me again, why didn't they make another one after MD?
What proteins? We're 100% black
Both games assume some kind of out-of-player agency that the character actually feels, but yeah. Even Mass Effect 3 gave you the option to just flip off the starchild and die in a coma.
System Schock 1
Remember to finish it all off with Cyberpunk 2077. It's the Deus Ex: MD of our time.
Bitch please
The rushed unpolished unfishined game didn't sell well, so they didn't feel the need to sell the second half of the game that they cut in favor of developing. Luckily their gamble payed off and Marvel Avengers sold millions.
