I dunno about the best but I recently bought myself the following monitor

It's 1440p and 144hz so you'll be paying around this price point

I bought a Dell s2716dg in November 2016. Has been a delight. Biggest difference you will see is in the refresh rate. I can never go back to 60hz now.

Best budget option would be the Pixio PX277 Prime for $320
The LG 27GL83A-B 27 is very good quality at a reasonable $380

Do not cheap out on a monitor. They can last you many years if you treat them right.

>he looks for opinions and advice by typing in something + "reddit"
based

>IPS
Isn't IPS completely outdated by now and only worth it if you can't afford TN or VA?
Thanks for the bump!

>Do not cheap out on a monitor.
I'm willing to spend 600 or so. Every list that google gave me of "great gaming monitors" was filled with things in the $300 range. Is there any good recommends closer to $600, or is there no point in going for $600 due to 3-400 being good?

I bought the Dell S2719DGF two years ago, which is the newer Freesync version.
In 2020 I honestly would not buy it again because there are much better options at around the same price.

You can get a nice VA panel for 280. If you have a 350 budget you can get an IPS panel to play your favorite games in 10-bit color.

Assuming that you think color is important.

>You can get a nice VA panel for 280
i've been interested in VA for the black levels but after all my research, every single one has bad smearing in black/grey motion. that and you still get VA glow just like ips. got any recommendations?

I got the 27GL850-B and I think it’s great

what do you mean by treat them right?

Acer XF240HU 27" 144HZ 1440p with freesync as bonus if you use an amd gpu. Make sure you get the IPS panel. It has a TN variant which is probably not good

My man, IPS is far better than TN or VA. At least in my experience. I have tried all

>IPS is far better than TN or VA
this. the only drawback to IPS is weak black levels compared to VA, but it's worth it to not have VA smearing which is unforgivable. i really wish they'd come up with a solution to this.

Viewsonic XG270QG, 1440p 144hz IPS with great colors, really expensive though.

Is ultrawide a meme? I am still using some shitty curved samsung 1080 60hz peice of shit but I'm getting a 3080 so I should probably upgrade

VA doesn't have backlight bleed compared to IPS and displays better black on average but i'd say it's inferior in every other way.
TN is only good for response time but looks horrid at a slight angle, honestly now that I'm used to better displays I can't view a TN display for a few seconds without getting watery eyes.
Unless you're a competitive player don't even consider TN. For me it's IPS but some VA panels I've seen look pretty good.

Okay these recommends so far seem good:
>Viewsonic XG270QG, 1440p 144hz IPS
>LG 27GL83A-B 27
Is the viewsonic just objectively better in every way? I don't mind spending $570 for it if it's all around superior.

>but some VA panels I've seen look pretty good
can you recommend any?

you want free sync or g sync? ips, va or tn? 1ms or 3ms?

>tfw have that monitor but only a 1060 6gb

I can't take advantage of it for anything recent.

if you are using a nvidia gpu, the ONLY ips, 1ms,144hz, 27inch, g sync is the viewsonic.

Cheapest one available to my knowledge.
Westinghouse WM32DX9019 31.5" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor

Pretty satisfied with my Benq EX2780EQ. 1440p, 144Hz, IPS and has freesync support.

Heres the one I use

1440p is great if your GPU can handle it. But when it comes to purchasing advice, do not, I repeat DO NOT take purchasing advice from Zig Forums. I don't care what board you are on, do not do it.

You mean 144hz is great if your GPU can handle it. Most can't, especially with new games even 3080 struggles with that.

>new games even 3080 struggles with that
We live on a prison planet.
