NO CUZ I COULD NEVER GET PAST THAT FUCKING TATOOINE LEVEL WHERE THEY TAKE AWAY YOUR JETPACK AND EVERYONE IS SNIPING YOU IN THE BACK

Wish they'd kept this Mandalorian lore and not the cartoon shit.

Mandos are space mongols

Did you get to the krayt dragon boss battle?

Can I play this on PC?

NO FARTHEST I MADE IT WAS NEAR THE END OF THE LEVEL WHERE THERE'S A BIG SHOOTOUT IN SOME BUILDING I THINK. THEN I IMEADIATELY ATE SHIT.

Anyone else really like the Phantom Menace game on PS1? There was a sequence where you explored Mos Eisley that was really comfy for 8 year old me

I remember there was this one cutscene where the toydarian girl is talking to him in the cockpit andshe tells him to find a nice girl amd settle down. And he just bitterly says "not in this life"
There was such a sadness in his voice like he knew he was scum and was never going to have it good
Shit got me good
Later she dies and he decides to have a clone son so he thought maybe he could be more and escape the sins of his past
To gain more than the cards hed been dealt
We know how it ends of course
This and open seasons was the only character development jango got

Pick it up again
You can get the rom on ps and steam i think
Its a fun romp

i wish the actual capturing bounties had been handled a little different. closer to like a hitman game or something. kinda hated how everything immediately turns into a firefight as soon as you enter an area.

Oh my god yessss yoh beautiful bastard
That game is so underrated
Theres alot of exploring to do
Branching paths i believe
Different dialogue options
You could do things radically different
Instead of getting podrace tickets conventionally you could just kill people to get in
You could even meet jabba and work for him or you could anger him amd have to fight your way out
Always wished they made more sw games like it

There were a lot of doors that would open to release enemies and if you were quick you could run in and get trapped. I also think I was too dumb as a kid to buy the power couplings and it took forever.

unfiltered kino. the death stick factory levels were confusing as fuck

I thought collecting the bounties was a fun mechanic
Could have been fleshed out more
Using the flamethrower was always the best option when you were out of ammo

was that the one with all the conveyor belts?

How come these older games (and games like Rogue Squadron, KOTOR, Jedi Outcast, Shadows of the Empire), despite having flaws and sometimes janky controls, are so much better than the modern Star Wars vidya?

You were chasing a doug
Se bolto i believe
For three levels you chase him and at the end of the malastare campaign he just falls into a vat of molten chemicals or something
At least it built up to a montross bossfight
Montross theme is the shiiiiit

they had soul

I replayed kotor the other week and the original battlefront
Kotor holds up but i have to say the original battlefront does not feel better than the new ones
The new ones really feel like an updated version with some of the best graphics in the industry
Shame that theres not alot of aingle player games though
I heard they might be rebooting kotor

it's amazing how well rogue squadron II looks and holds up, especially for being a GCN launch title.

I played it as a kid beat it and it was hard as balls. Was it just bad or controls or something?

None of them are masterpieces
But you can tell they were madw by fans
And not by a slimy company trying to make a buck

The old games were made by people who loved the source material, and who had the technical know-how and ingenuity to get the most out of limited hardware.

More recent games are made by EA as a micro-transaction filled cash grab.

Its not too janky honestly
The controls are fine
And theres aimbot so the gameplay is more about being stealthy and tactical with your weapons

I remember playing Rogue Squadron II the weekend I got my Gamecube and thinking there was no way graphics could ever get better than this.

Must have played the Death Star assault, Battle of Endor, and Hoth missions hundreds of times, because I had a Gamecube in the era where I could only really afford to buy two or three games a year.

I just dont think battlefront is that great to begin with
Its a battle simulator
Games like force unleashed
Kotor
Jedi outcast
All have stories and actual characters that are moemorable

would 1313 have been kino? or was it too late at that point?

Battle of endor was probably the most goosebumps moment i ever had in a game
I stopped playing games after that realizing that was the top of the mountain for me

Check out all the lucasarts ips that were scrapped after ea got the license
There is some really cool shit in there
Theres a pic somewhere

Would have been decent, but the publisher probably would have convinced the developer to cut loads of content and make it DLC instead.

Honestly kino, great soundtrack with great writing and voice acting. Montross was a lot of fun.

>Nothing a stiff shot of Corellian brandy couldn't fix!

The darth maul game was almost finished
There were time travel elements
He would have teamed up with darth talon
I think it was like a fighting game

reminder that we almost had battlefront III from the timesplitters team

>kotor

>But then a phantom menace struck. George Lucas would periodically check in on the status of the games his company was making, lending creative input and advice. The developer I talked to sighs, and agitatedly says, “In one viewing of Fracture, [Lucas] said it looked really good, but he didn’t like [Mason Briggs’] name. We’re like, ‘What do you mean, George?’ He responded to the effect of, ‘It doesn’t really fit. When he jumps on stuff, he moves pretty fast. I like B.J. Dart.’

>“So everybody’s like, ‘No, he’s gotta be f---ing with us.’ He’s absolutely not. So when something like that happened – in the middle of the campaign, mind you – we have to go back through that entire naming convention again… from scratch.” From that second session, Jet Brody was born. Coincidentally. Jett is the name of Lucas’ son.

>A similar situation arose with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’s protagonist, Starkiller. “[That name] was only supposed to be a nickname or call sign, not a proper name from the beginning,” a former LucasArts employee says. The development team hoped that Lucas would give Vader’s apprentice a Darth moniker, which at the time, was something that didn’t happen often.

>“The team threw a Hail Mary to George, saying the game would have more credibility if the apprentice had a ‘Darth’ title,” a Force Unleashed team member says. Lucas agreed that this situation made sense for Sith royalty, and offered up two Darth titles for the team to choose from. “He threw out ‘Darth Icky’ and ‘Darth Insanius.’ There was a pregnant pause in the room after that. People waiting for George to say ‘just kidding,’ but it never comes, and he just moved on to another point.”

Yes, I remember being so confused as to which path to take during that part. Come to think of it, some sections of the prison levels were pretty confusing too, although I played it as an esl child
The Montross stuff was great. Whenever he showed up it felt like you were battling a worthy adversary

Also cancelled battlefront 3
Where all the bad guys were good and vice versa

Yeah sorry
Kotor definately holds up
Played it in quarantine for the first time and it blew me away
Apparently the battlesystem is based on the wizards of the coast table top
Always wanted to play one of those but never had the courage because of the stygma attached
Strange how they only made 2 starwars rpgs

I miss how vidya in 128-bit era still allowed you to get stuck, get lost and not know where to go. Today’s vidya are constantly nagging you with hints and quest markers and magic lines to follow.

>Today’s vidya are constantly nagging you with hints and quest markers and magic lines to follow.
Minimaps killed videogames

played it during quarantine as well, something about the dark/light system is so great, and was utterly groundbreaking back when it was released.

totally agree with you about the lack of RPGs though, just shows the lack of commitment EA has to make games of actual substance given the massive potential the SW universe has.

What about galaxies?

if your in a room of people and every one agrees with your idea 100%, you need to find different people

Disney are trying to push their “High Republic” series of Star Wars timeline at the moment I think?

Seems silly not to make a Star Wars: Knights of the High Republic RPG to go with it. It’d be fun if you could build a team made up of Jedi, bounty hunters, smugglers etc from different planets and species.

the final level scared me with all the screaming monkeys and when the evil jedi can just cut your head off real easily. Really made me feel good when I beat her because she was so threatening

It never gets boring
I was expecting to enter an area where i had already completed all the quests thinking it was going to feel empty and like there was nothing to do
To my surprise interesting quests and encounters kept happening
So much replayability with radicaly different approaches to quests

Yes lad.

The Mandalorian is bringing a lot of the old shit back.

Is tor any good
I realize its not as good as the first two but i really just love star wars as an rpg setting
I love the way kotor came up with the pallet pallet of force powers ando cemented what is a light and darkkside power

Minimaps are fine, it's the quest markers, location logos and points of interest.
A minimap showing you the geographical structure is fine but when it's filled with shit it becomes busywork.
More an issue in open world games.

Kek
Screamung monkeys
I just spammed the flamethrower

I played a bit of it and enjoyed it but never really got into it fully. Heard it gets very repetitive, but someone else may be able to speak to that better.

Absolutely

Not as kino as Republic Commando.

Old Battlefront shits all over the reamke.
It also got an update earlier this year.

>It also got an update earlier this year.
Really? After 16 years? What's in it?

>force unleashed
Oh dear.

Isnt that game too short tho?

It was great when it came out. Replayed it on PS4 and it feels very aged. Lack of free aim is annoying and the jetpack doesn't have enough fuel. Fuck whoever killed that new Boba Fett game. Here's hoping the success of Mandalorian brings that game back to life.

Played the wii/ps2 version
Was great
Great soundtrack
Love angry russian man protagonist
Whats not to love?

>force unleashed
Zoom Zoom

They made 4.....

Not to be that guy but you can technically free aim
13 year old me felt like a real badass breaking into a prison and starting a riot
(Amd murdering everyone in the process)

Dont zoom me man
I even played super star wars 1-3 on the snes
I guess i didnt play the atari games
Guess im a pleb
"Oh boy cant believe they cancelled ewok glider game"

Which ones
I wasnt counting mmo
And if i was there would be more than 4

Don't remember. It was just kino. Particularly at the end when they're forced to abandon the missing squad memeber

What did you play?
Lucas learnings?

Pic related
Actually played this as a kid

>ayyup... now THAT was a star wars game *cracks open beer*

Attached: 91WttM9HkoL._SL1500_.jpg (1500x1125, 147.03K)

The terrible gameplay and the tiredness of it all.

Which begs the question....
Was it kino?

Attached: The_Gungan_Frontier.jpg (408x497, 67.08K)

>who /droidworks/ here?

Attached: 61A4538BFZL.jpg (390x475, 65K)

Oh boy
Did you play force unleashed 2
Now that was a fucking trainwreck

FUCK JANNIES

You're alright in my book user

It was shit and if EA tries to make one based on the mando show popularity it will be even shallower than fallen order was.
Disney should just get a different studio at this point

real ones know what's up

Think there is a single soul out there who would call this their favourite game?
