Is there a worst franchise than DMC? They fucked up their own protagonist, the first sequel was garbage, the third game is the best in the series, the fourth game is only worth it for the inertia and OTF style switching (Nero is mostly useless, 4SE added Vergil, Lady and Trish, who are also completely useless but also barebones, broken and unbalanced, the base game is still complete shit), DmC reboot was a terrible idea and a waste of everyone's time, DMC5 was too little too late as it took several steps back, and my god did they fuck up the characters so badly, and the soundtrack is fucking terrible (only those with shit taste loved the music).
I struggle to think of a franchise that got worse treatment than DMC. Maybe Sonic, but at least the long-time fans got Mania. Us real original DMC fans are still left pining for the real sequel to DMC1. Putting Itsuno at the helm of a doomed sequel was a mistake, and while DMC3 was a great brawler, it was still not the sequel DMC1 deserved, and the reboot was still an off-shoot of DMC3/4.

It connects perfectly to DMC1 if you get the full ending and it's very respectful towards Kamiya's work. He was also supervising the game for a bit and shirtless Dante was his idea.

Just played through the series other than DmC. The first one is still a fantastic game but theres alot of fun to be had with the newer titles I found. Was not too big on 4 overall but 3 and 5 are some of the best fun I have had in any action game.
