You don't even know what cyberpunk is

Listen you incel FAGGOTS:

1. Bladerunner is not 'cyberpunk'
2. Deus Ex is not 'cyberpunk'

Cyberpunk, the game, is an accurate depiction of the genre. If you don't like it, then you don't like Cyberpunk. It's not an issue with the game. Pick up a book and look into what the genre is actually about you insufferable FAGGOT

Bladerunner is related to cyberpunk, but it's not what you'd call an archetypical cyberpunk setting

its a 'what the term actually means versus the colloquialism' situation, bladerunner is very much cyber but not much punk. same thing with 'roguelike vs traditional roguelike'.

And yet bladerunner is considered one.

>1. Bladerunner is not 'cyberpunk'
wrong

So you just want Tank girl with LEDs? I think its sweet that you care enough try keep this stance alive but I think it's a sort of shallow distinction. I feel your stance in the effect that mood matters but I feel like there might be some ethos/pathos/logos level of consideration that would need to take place.

I guess anything written in Mirrorshades isn't cyberpunk since they don't have description of scenario being like that.

Then what is cyberpunk?

Based

The Cyberpunk Video game that is full of glitches isn't Cyber punk either. Only the Table Top RPG.
The Cyberpunk video game is shitty GTA 3 mod with Trannies.

>Cyberpunk, the game, is an accurate depiction of the genre.

Yeah it is, viral marketing and tranny dystopia

Have you guys even READ Neuromancer? It feels a LOT more like Blade Runner than it does cyberpunk 2077.

2 attempts, 2 fails. Leftards should stop relying on revisionism like that to spread their shit, it doesn't work when you are outside your church.

William Gibson is a terrible hack who never produced anything worth a shit. Neuromancer is one of the worst books I've had the misfortune of slogging through.

JUST GIVE ME A RAINY NEON CITY I DONT CARE WHAT ITS CALLED

Bladerunner is not cyberpunk. The book may be arguable that it hints at it with the empathy machine being a sort of internet but thats a stretch. Deus ex IS cyberpunk.

Yeah man, Cyberpunk is when the world is made out of plastic. Plastic robots and AI cyberspace! Fuck off, Neuromancer is only one interpretation of the genre. You probably didn't even read the book and you're just referencing the author's latest tweets.

True. Musk obsessed zoomers can't into real cyberpunk

>neuromancer
>the quintessential CYBERKINO novel
>only 1/5th of the story is cyberpunk

damn....

A degenerate cyber setting with punks. Bladerunner isn't degenerate, just decayed, and there aren't many punks.
Do you really, REALLY think that Alien is Cyberpunk? You must be an actual retard
Neuromancer feels absolutely nothing like Bladerunner. I don't believe you've ever read Neuromancer

High-tech Low-life tries to pay the bills

listen man i just want the term to make sense like techno-futurism rather than cyberpunk. it's a dumb catch-all that people should stop using when it doesn't apply. i get using casualized terms but it has PUNK in the name. not everything with cool robots is cyberpunk.

the first several chapters of Neuromancer basically feels like a straight up Blade Runner city

Ready Player One because it masterfully targets the exact reddit demographic that cyberpunk appeals too.

No it doesn't. Chiba doesn't feel like Bladerunner at all. People live in 'coffins' in Chiba for fucks sake - everyone is dressed in goofy shit and they hang out in arcades. Salarymen are revered and the streets are owned by gangs. This is what makes it punk. Bladerunner has a similar aesthetic, but that's where the similarities end. I Bladerunner btw they're just different genres.

I like Bladerunner btw*

>Cyberpunk, the game, is an accurate depiction of the genre
Cyberpunk, the video game, isn't even an accurate depiction of Cyberpunk, the pen and paper game. So unless you're so fucking deluded and/or retarded you think that this game is more cyberpunk than it's own source material, no it is not 'cyberpunk'.

Read a book, retard
