I think it's more like as time goes on and more characters are added the more likely it is that picks outside our tastes will get added. For me Steve isn't my kind of character. It's also really frustrating that certain series get a lot of fighters while others struggle to get more than has been in since Melee or Brawl. FE can't fail soon enough.

What's everyone's personal ranking of the DLC characters, with both the character themselves and their gameplay in mind? For me it's:
Erdrick > Terry > Banjo > Joker > Min Min > Steve > Byleth
I find Steve to be really funny and be fun to watch, but I just can't really get behind playing him myself. Something doesn't click for me. The DQ Heroes are my favorite character to play in Smash period, and it helps that I love the series too. Terry was a pleasant surprise for me, very happy he was added in.
