Tons of industries are like this. Fast food for example have a million tricks to make food look far more appetizing than it actually looks but you can't advertise taste so it slides by regulators for the most part. Real estate is a particularly egregious example and stuff like listed square footage is expected to be exaggerated by 15-30% in certain markets.
