I have been a member of Xbox Live since 2004 with the original Xbox. I have over 500 Xbox Platinum achievements, I have over 1,000,000 Gamerscore, I have over 10 years of Gamepass stacked from eating boxes of Pop-Tarts and drinking 12-packs of Mountain Dew for the 14-week subscription codes that come inside. I have literally put thousands of dollars and thousands of hours of my life into the Xbox ecosystem.
My point being is that us Xbros are at risk of going extinct. If we go another console generation without making Microsoft a profit, we're either getting cut or sold off to some Indian call center. Please for the love of god buy a fucking Xbox this generation. PLEASE GamePass has tons of great indies, Starfield will be available sometime in 2023, and Halo Infinite is now a live service game so you can have fun with it for over a decade.
Microsoft is only in the consumer market to make money. If it doesn't make money Windows will either go away or change into something more profitable.
Either way screw Windows and the Xbox. Upgrade to GNU/Linux for gaming. Open Platforms that will stay open are the only way forward for PC gaming as we know it.

Its really the console market as a whole besides Nintendo. What value does either a PS5 or Xbox whatever this one is add over a PC running a modern GNU/Linux based operating system?
For the last decade Consoles have only really existed because Microsoft was able to effectively hold back the PC making it worse for gaming. Now that the PC is breaking free of the hold console companies have had over it, what point is there to consoles?

Halo was called 'Halo' when it was announced as a showcase title for Apple's new BSD based operating system and the new OpenGL. It was meant to show off what UNIX-like operating systems could do for PC gaming with Bungie the maker of games like Myth and Marathon. That was before Microsoft bought Bungie, forced the downgrade of Halo to support their DirectX consoles, and threw all their other valuable IP away.
