Sephiroth deserves to be in on merit, but the slots are so few and Smash such a living museum of video games that I would have preferred and expected reps from novel genres and iconic protagonists. I was kind of expecting Doomguy. Reimu would be my second choice.
It's an odd situation where Sephiroth absolutely deserves the slot, but I think other characters belong in it more.
