Sadly no broter
Cash grabs dont win awards honey
weak bait
Are you retarded? It was 100% obvious it wouldn't win anything because of the conflict of interests for Valve and Geoff.
Then why did TLOU2 win?
it literally won more awards than Doom Eternal
Glorified tech demos aren't eligible for a nomination
Its a mediocre shooter made to sell VR kits, of course its not winning
And it deserved to be game of the year. Wasn't even in the nominees
Butthurt poorfags
>TLOU2 wins Audio Design
>when fucking Doom and Alyx were on it
FUCKING HOW
Cope
I still don't understand why it wasn't even nominated.
VR games are a side award while mobile gets a full announcement, what a fucking joke of a show
I don’t care. Where’s the new Dota 2 hero, Artifact 2, and Season 2 of Dota Underlords?
Cuckmans wife knows who to blow
Not mainstream enough. This game is only for people who has a job which is probably around 1% of gamers.
I'm pissed, going to jerk off to alyx VR porn to get loose some steam, cya later dudes
Again, are you retarded? Geoff is the journalist with the closest ties to Valve. He writes the post mortems for every Valve game. He's been working with valve since 1997 when he was like 19. The Alyx Gameplay Reveal was originally supposed to be at last year's VGAs.
Choosing it would've been a huge conflict of interests.
>literally the best game of the year
>not nominated because the people picking the nominees didn't play it
Geoff doesn't pick any of the awards idiot, they're selected by a council of game journalists
Cope pcbro, TLOU2 may be shit but at least people talked about it
Your memegame only made to drive up VR sets sales was forgotten in less than a week
With not being poor?
Butthurt poorfag
AgaIn iT shows how irrelevant VR is
>again
lol what? do I know you? are you just gonna be a reply warrior designated to this thread
>people forgot about it
we're actually enjoying playing it
and also making content for it
No. I bought a Valve Index the moment Alyx was announced and playing it was my greatest disappointment of this year. Didn't even bother finishing it; stopped playing after the hotel sequence.
It's designed for cripples and cowards. The "actual movement" option is an afterthought and it forces you to teleport to jump. The plot is mostly nonexistent but cringe wherever it does crop up, with Russell spouting "haha I read wikipedia" quips into your ear and benevolent aliens teleporting to save characters in the nick of time. The game barely has any action and that which it does have is devoid of spectacle or impact; most of the game is a walking simulator in a warehouse backlot where you regularly stop by cute gimmicky self-contained puzzle things and are supposed to go "Neat" for a second. Always little dumb things I'm supposed to be impressed by, but never any real spectacle, never any bombast.
No sense of a grand outdoor journey like HL2, no vehicle segments, lame combat because designed for teleport cripples, no platforming because designed for teleport cripples, generally in all regards except graphics and art totally inferior to BONEWORKS and only appreciated by people who played it as their first VR game or fucking posers who want to pretend VR has a compelling game yet. As many thousands as I've spent on VR shit and as much as I desperately want it to have a game, it fucking doesn't.
This game needed to make poorfags kill themselves. They looked at it and rightfully shrugged.
>new game in a series with the highest amount of anticipation of any other game series
>devs hesitent to even make it because unless it could never stand up to the legacy
>universal acclaim loved by all that played it
>completely forgot by the end of the year
>snubbed in every category except the shoe in one
>not even nominated for GOTY
>valve's fears were correct and their effort to push forward the gaming industry lost to movie games, casual games, and open world trash
Valve is 100% going to make this personal and cancel whatever plans they had for continuing the series. There is no future for Half Life.
Thanks for your service. Too bad that archive doesn't go back to 2010 or earlier, which is as early as I can remember using this tripcode.
Fuck tripfags, but I partially agree.
I didn't think it was terrible, but I think it pulled its punches in a few too many places and it was scared to try new stuff or make people motion sick.
It has really good potential but listening to some of the dev commentary it felt like it was trying to make a pretty good experience for the greatest common denominator instead of push the envelope.
its not the "mario 64 of vr" I wanted it to be but its pretty good
How did Half Life Alyx not win Best Audio at least
>haha look everyone I'm an oldfag
dumb election tourist probably
>they are still seething 8 months later
keep telling yourself that HL:A is just a "tech demo," poorfag
I have never voted and I care as minimally as possible about politics.
Alyx was not a worthy follow-up to Half-Life 2 and does not take full advantage of VR. Boneworks did. Boneworks impressed me and Alyx depressed me.
It really is a tech demo when the main activity you do throughout the game is scouting out coins to wrist-flick to yourself and solving so many asinine little hologram mazes that take far too long to become noticeably challenging. If I wasn't standing upright the whole time I would've fallen asleep while playing.
Ironically, BONEWORKS has the most literal aesthetic of a tech demo yet is far more compelling of a game.
I dunno, Boneworks seems rather janky and all those parkour puzzles don't seem that fun when you spend 10 minutes climbing ladders
I'm commenting on you being a tripfag insect, not your opinion of the game
Nope. People with VR still talk about it constantly
