This. I also noticed a while ago that most games just started to feel like you're playing the same thing over and over. Of course you always had clones of popular games but it felt like there was more variety with older stuff.

I really enjoyed this recently. Takes a little while to get used to the controls but after that it feels really good to play, and the story/atmosphere are pretty great too.

I've noticed more and more indie games having the same problems as AAA games. Guess it's because of how much that market grew as well. A lot of them are just like AAA games with a smaller budget but similar issues.

Almost every AAA game trailer was a load of indulgent shooting and long-winded choreographed fighting with some overly drawn out monologue soundtracked to the most generic, bombastic Hollywood music score.

There are some gems if you know where to look. Nex Machina is a nice example. Other than that, enjoy some older games. Super Mario Bros. 3 and Castlevania are still good.

This is almost the lowest point. I think the true nadir was around 2012 but this is still horrendous.
