I don't care. Only a board that doesn't play games but browses this place more than an hour a day truly cares about game awards ceremonies.
Ian Lee
Chase Adams
Kevin Edwards
tfw no elden ring
Leo Diaz
I don't even remember what games have won GOTY in the past.
Jeremiah Hill
I genuinely don't remember a single thing that made me excited or even interested.
Jose Brooks
That's what's so many years of blatant bias and rigging in these things do to you.
James Cox
sorely disappointed, just like I am every E3 and TGA
where were the next-gen games? where was Elden Ring? Silksong? BotW 2? where was anything of value?

>Sephiroph gets into Smash
>No Man's Sky wins an award
>Left 4 Dead clone
>Perfect Dark remake reboot thing
>Bad interviews, one women was wearing nearly nothing and was talking about how bad vaping is
>Mario orchestra including 1-1 for the 100th time, even though that Undertale one from September was WAY better
>Among Us devs wearing masks inside because of political garbage, fakes crying and wins awards
>Evil Dead: The Game, featuring 1st movies characters, although some look too modern
>Ghost 'N Goblins reboot
>Microsoft 9/11 simulator wins Sim award
>GOT wins Player's Voice award
>Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate wins Fighting Game award
>Super MeatBoy Forever
>Stupid TLOU2 Abby vs. Ellie thing
>Road 96, basically Desert Bus but with a bad story
>Weird Book of Love/Life game
>TLOU2 wins Innovation of Accessibility award
>VR Star Wars gaming that looks and runs horrible
>BLACK COMPUTER ad
>Stupid Pokemon GO sponsor despite not being relevant for 4 years
>Monster Hunter AKA needless weeb game goes to Nintendo Switch
>RDR + Evil Dead = Evil West
>Master Chief in Fortnite, including Red vs. Blue reference, and Ninja
>Keanu 'Big Chungus' Reeves presents Best Game Direction, appears to be losing hair
>TLOU2 wins Best Game Direction award
>Christopher Nolan presents GOTY
>More GTA V heists
>Humankind
>Medal of Honor WW2 again because WW1 never happened
>Mass Effect: I Live Again
>TLOU2 wins most awards undeserved, including GOTY
TL;DR
The show was the equivalent to dog poop shooting out a cannon. TLOU2 won most awards undeserved. DOOM Eternal won none. On the upside, some classics got rebooted and reintroduced like Ghosts N' Goblins, and The Evil Dead got the F13: The Game treatment. Super MeatBoy got an appearance.
On the downside, most games shown were complete garbage and the ones that were good either got no screentime, or never won an award.
Sorry for the long post, just thought I'd sum it up for you Anons who didn't watch it.

>no BOTW2

>TLOU stunning and brave

PROS:
Sephiroth
CONS:
everything else
we all knew naughty dog was going to win everything despite sekiro being the player's favorite
Nathaniel Anderson
Jose Carter
Smash was the only relatively exciting thing, and that was more so just relief it wasn't Jonesy. Everything else blew.
Ian Hughes
Ayden Sullivan
The faggots here crying that an awards show is rigged are the same ones that wet themselves with glee when Steve got announced for Smash. They're products for children and manchildren. Stop taking them so seriously and turning these timewasters into some sort of drama or "statement". You're all guilty of this.
Elijah Turner
Nah, just all the games seemed uninteresting. You had lots of updates and new seasons for multiplayer shooters, tons of indies with themes of "personal adventures through one's own thoughts and internal challenges", a bunch of CG trailers for shit that everyone knows will be awful (see Mass Effect), and tons of co-op multiplayer stuff that all blended together.
Nothing really blew people's minds or shocked. And since the awards were fucking blitzed through with award bait shit like TLoU2 winning everything, the announcements were the only thing to look forward to. So yeah, it was just boring. Not even upset about who won what since that shit doesn't matter.
Liam Wright
At least Genshit didn't win anything.
Carter Ward
Jaxson Gomez
Exactly. Like, Sephiroth is neat I guess. But it's just another FFVII character. Cloud was an awesome reveal because it was a step outside of Nintendo's stuff and the first real big FF thing in Smash. Sephiroth is just kinda a weaker version of that same feeling.
Carson King
Every year I watch the Game Awards, I realize how much I hate western games. Forget politics, just watching the trailers for all these things just realized they all blend together into four genres:
>shoot shooty action
>generic open world
>overly edgy Netflix drama
>quirky tumblr art indie game
Don't get me wrong, anime games blend together too, but Japanese games focus so much more on actual game that they're infinitely more soulful to play. Doesn't hurt that their art styles are generally pleasant to look at.
Cameron Martin
Landon Young
Wait, no. Going over announcements, the Disco Elysium update seemed pretty neat. And whatever that Dead Space rip-off will turn out to be could be interesting.
Otherwise yeah, garbage.
Caleb Walker
i didnt watch it
Is it that bad?
Michael Perez
Yes, nothing interesting was announced
Nolan Long
Michael Sullivan
>This was my reaction since I don’t like politics in games and I was offended because it promoted lgbt rights and good game design
Jaxson Young
It was ok, couple things look neat. If you haven't tempered your expectations after literal years of this, you're retarded.
Asher Thompson
Exactly my point. All these games are completely underwhelming compared to other shit that's been released in the same year. And of those of extremely underwhelming and obvious shill nominees it's always the most unoriginal overly shilled nominee chosen despite everyone who played the game agrees there's way better than what they've chosen. This shit happens literally every year and ever since gamergate they just gotten more and more blatant about doing this with the main goal of homogenizing how games are made
Asher Gonzalez
Honestly I enjoyed how much of a shitshow it was but beyond that nothing really surprised me especially them shilling for TLOU2
Isaiah Flores
this but unironically
and posting that epic meme doesnt make it any less valid
Mason Green
John Lopez
I didn't watch. Can I get a rundown of the trailers that were shown? I couldn't give less of a fuck about the bogus awards.

The only thing that was interesting was ghost and goblins, the entire thing was trash and it was embarrassing how they kept hyping up the 12-15 world premieres.
James Morgan
Kayden Cook
This.
Jaxon Williams
I'm happy with it. I saw some games I think look cool like FUCK OSCARSmans new game or Rabbit Doomfist and some games I'll watch with interest to see if they turn out good like Perfect Dark or Mass Effect, and Sephiroth in Smash was dope. The awards themselves don't matter at all. Game Awards has always been mainstream games Journalist awards for casual movie games. No one should be even a little surprised they turned out this way.
Hudson Brown
Cooper Turner
Whats going on big guy?

>The only thing that was interesting was ghost and goblins,
The game looks wrose than the PSP game

Yakuza on Steam, I waited 2 years for this shit
Josiah Brown
Tyler Turner
Landon Bell
Overall, it was shit.
>GotY
Should have been Hades or Ghosts
>Game Direction
Absolutely should have been Ghosts.
>Most anticipated game
Marketing budget award. Fuck off.
>Narrative
Last of Us winning this is a fucking joke. Ghosts should have taken it.
>Art Direction
If they gave this to Last of Us instead of the art gallery that was a game Ghosts of Tsushima, then I would have lost what little respect I had for this institution.
>Score and Music
FF7 aint bad, but Ori really deserved SOMETHING.
>Audio Design
Not giving this to Doom Eternal tells me that games journos don't know how to judge audio design.
>Performance
I do think Laura deserved this. She's a great voice actress who elevated shite material.
>Games for Impact
The Virtue Signalling award. Fuck off.
>Ongoing game
No man's Sky put in the effort where others would have taken the money and run. Good on them.
>Indie games
Hades won. Good.
>Debut Indie game
Phasmophobia deserved it big time. Good.
>Mobile game
HAHAHAHA eat a DICK, China.
>Community support
I'd hate to give Fortnite anything, but they deserved that.
>VR
No brainer.
>Innovation in Accessibility
What the fuck is this retarded category? who cares.
>Action game
Doom should have won.
>Action/Adventure Game
Literally any other game in this category was better than Last of Us.
>RPG
SUCK IT, CHINA.
>Fighting Game
No one cares.
>Family game
Animal Crossing was never not going to win.
>Sim/Strat
gg Flight Simulator!
>Sports
Tony hawk winning was cool.
>Multiplayer game
Among Us winning was a shoe-in.
>Content creator/Esports
no one cares

The important part is that the IP is still alive, i couldn't care less how it looks as long as it plays good

>gave up on nu-gaming years go
>just been going on a retro trip and playing tons of cult classics and masterpieces since they've all be a cataloged and appraised
I honestly feel bad for people who just sit around and constantly WAIT games to release that only MIGHT be good. Meanwhile I've got a catalog spanning 40+ years and I can easily weave through the shit and just focus on the good and what stood the test of time.
99% of masterpieces have already been released, you may as well go back and play them rather than wait and hope that a new one comes out.
