that bit is honestly the best portion of the game because it focuses on what's actually necessary. like damn i don't care about this guy's backstory or what the relationship was between these two, how this guy felt, whatever the fuck. the only time that shit should be seen is at the beginning of the story when it's just to set up the calm before the storm. after that, if it's not absolutely vital to the case, it can fuck off.
yeah, to build up to the murder mystery. no detective novel is gonna jump straight into the case. later in the game though it's literally the entire story of the chapter and the murder mystery is the backdrop.
