I like it because it's fun and soulful and has the 90s spirit. It's an artifact from the old world. Just hearing the iconic victory fanfare reminds me of better times.

FF7 is a great setting, story, and characters. It's a solid title.

Me FF7 is kinda a shot, playing the original feels like ass now and the remake is pants on head retarded. I get that it's Square's most profitable he, but I'd rather have nearly any other Properties they own outside of Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. If it had to be an FF character, why not from any other game in the series.

The Final Fantasy representation in Smash is not that great in all honesty.
The franchise is so much more than just FF7 and yet it keep overshadowing the rest of the franchise.
FF7 by itself can not represent FF as a whole and Smash only focusing on one game in the franchise is disappointing. It's like representing Pokemon with only gen 1 characters.
What about a character from the modern era or even the retro Nintendo era?

Id be disappointed but, honestly the Ultimate DLC characters have been full of disappointing picks, I've only bothered to buy 1 of them, and Steve was the lowest it could get in my eyes. So Sephiroth doesn't really bother me at this point.

Just make it Emet-Selch so every fangirl in the goddamn multiverse will buy a Switch, Smash and all DLC just for their husband. Should be way more money with the recency bias.

I'm not really "mad" per-say. I'm hype for Sephiroth in a bubble. It's the implications of his inclusion that upset me a little. If Sephiroth is in, that very likely deconfirms both Sora and Geno in one fell swoop.

Yes, but at least he'd have an interesting moveset instead of just "big sword, lol." Sora could have mid-air combos, which only Bayonetta has so far, he'd have elemental magic that you could cycle through via a HUD menu, he'd have Flo-Motion as a recovery, he'd be pretty sick.

I'm still holding out for Crash, though. He's a very likely pick in my eyes.

Smash ultimate has a problem with disjoints. There are a couple characters that are strong just because of them. I had a disscusion about this with my friend, sephiroth is a cool addition but his sword is too big and bound to be busted
