Anyone ever play this game? I'm trying it out on PC, the first one. Is it just me or is this game hard as fuck? And yes I know, git gud hur dur. Just wondering what you guys think.

Yes, the platforming is very tight.

It was my 2017 GOTY

What year is it? You need to go back.

>Yes, the platforming is very tight.
What does that mean? Is it hard because of poor game design?

Yeah I really like it so far. I thought it was gonna be corny based off the intro but it's really good.

>Noooooo you can't discuss any games older than 1 years old!!!
Fuck off

why is your assumption that its bad game design

>why is your assumption that its bad game design
It's not? He said the platforming is tight. I don't know what that means?

I fucking love this game, OP. Its something that will still be fun and have incredible visuals 15 years from now. You can even do remote play with a pal over Steam now for co-op. Have fun.
Cant wait for the new one to come out.

>poor game designs
It's literally just follow the pattern you fucking retard. Did you pass kindergarten?

Nice, I just started and I'm already hooked to it. I have a pretty crappy PC but I may try out a few more of these.

I'm guessing what the other guy meant by what he said. Why is everyone getting on my back?

it means its good, or feels right.

Oh, I've never heard something describe it that way before

No. It's hard because it's designed to be hard. Cuphead is a game that is brutally difficult, but also extremely fair.
Now, don't misunderstand me: I'm not telling you to "git gud" because I'm berating you for not being an epic enough gamer. This game is hard. It is. It really fucking is. There's nothing to be ashamed about.
"Tight platforming" means that it's very precise and very "tuned." It means that it controls well and feels good, but at the same time it means that the design demands a lot from you as a player.

Ignore the other assholes OP. The frustration you're feeling right now is entirely by design. Just keep on playing and use the vanishing dash move.

Yes, you should go back to pleddit. Is it down at the moment?

Great example of FAIR difficulty. Keep at it and you'll get better.

It's an ok game. There's no real interesting concept other than the artstyle, so you just beat all of the bosses and you're kinda done. Too easy to be memorable, but too difficult to be a cakewalk.

Tight is good. You'll understand once you've had sex.

Thanks user, I wasn't sure if I was just really bad or not because it's up there in difficulty. It's hard but in a fun way, not in a "this game is total bullshit" way.

Also as you and this user pointed out
It does feel fair so far. It's not hard in a cheesy way.

Isn't this considered a shoot em up though? Feels like the same of game you'd play at an arcade.

>you just beat all of the bosses and you're kinda done
Literally what do you mean by this. How is that different from any other game with bosses?

I've had plenty of sex. Ask your mom.

I mean, it's a boss rush game? I don't know what you mean by arcade here, since I assume you'd have to start from the beginning if you died. That definetly wouldn't work in cuphead, there's upgrades and places you slowly unlock.
It's just not memorable to me and don't care at all about replaying it. I know it's not a great example, but Terraria is basically a boss rush game with a shitton of other content that allows you to play it in many other ways.
I guess I'm just not too invested in boss rush games.

It's pretty hard to be fair. Managed to complete it a few years ago in around 10h. Definitely one of the better indie games along with Hollow Knight that came out last decade.

Wait until you get to Dr. Wily and the Iron Giant.

This is an English board.

By arcade I want the playstyle and control feels like an arcade game to me. I don't mean the whole game is arcade like.

Also
>Terraria
>Hollow Knight
It's funny you guys bring that up. Those are two games I'm also going to play soon. Already have them both downloaded.

Yeah I just started. But the difficulty and uniqueness jumped out at me so I wanted to see if anyone else tried it out before.

>This is an English board.
You don't speak English?

The bosses where you fly in a plane were the hardest ones imo

it genuinely is hard
especially after isle 1
but i did finish the game, among the 13% on steam

I never made it past the 2nd world. I was never this bad at video games but nowadays I have to play on easy. Is this what getting old feels like?

>among the 13% on steam
Any idea where your average gamer throws in the towel?

Hard to say, I use to play the hardest but now I just go by what's recommended if I'm new to the game. If there's no recommended I'll play the hardest.

Sounds like a good time lol
